On their KCRW-session Franz Ferdinand told that they interviewed Morrissey for the NME last Sunday. They were really nervous because The Smiths were one of their favourite bands ever, but Morrissey apparently didn't want to talk to an NME-journalist after 12 years, so he opted for the hottest new band in Britain instead. Quite a wise move actually. You can hear it here: http://www.kcrw.com/show/mb at about 19 minutes. Great session by the way.

  • What a great compromise. God knows that Moz needs the exposure that an NME cover gives, but at the same time he keeps his integrity by not letting anyone from the actual magazine talk to him. Wonderful.

  • What is franz ferdinand really about? To me they seem a bit shallow, it's all about fashion and image...

Great watching them on that link and hearing them perform songs from their excellent debut cd which I love and have barely taken out of my player since I popped it in.
Super that Morrissey is championing them and I look forward to the big interview.
