i have a fax from the william morris agency that list the confirmed acts for lollapalooza

these are the confirmed acts. i've left off all the unconfirmed acts

day 1
morrissey (headlining)
sonic youth
flaming lips
black rebel motorcyle club

day 2
string cheese incident (headlining)
gomez
polyphonic spree

the unconfirmed acts, if they book, should round out the schedule nicely.

  • I thought for sure Sonic Youth would be the headliner.
This means Mozzer will have the longest and loudest set of the day.
    Now I'm excited.

  • That looks like a wonderful day out...

    BRMC - ace
    Flaming Lips - divine
Sonic Youth - not my cup of Earl Grey but an important act
Morrissey - I have heard good things about him

    Wish I could go.

  • I think this is great. Not only do I get to see Morrissey, but I get to see The Flaming Lips and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to boot. I read the numerous postings last time this was brought up complaining about ticket prices, venue sizes, "idiotic" attendees, etc. but who cares? It's Morrissey, and do we not all agree he's worth it? Plus, this will be great exposure for him. We'll get to see him in a more intimate setting when he does a solo tour to promote the album (which he inevitably will). Just think of this as a nice little bonus.

  • I'd like to see some sort of official confirmation on this. All notifications about this have been from Anonymous sources. This still could be a crock of shit.

  • Come on Moz, please let them be part of the show. If you don't, how could I see them again ?

  • but this lineup does not seem like the type that will come close to selling out the usual Lollapolloza venues, which are of the 15,000-20,000 seat variety.

perhaps the fesitval will move to somewhat smaller venues this year?

  • Damn, I went to high school with one of the guys in that band (just last year), I hated him. And now he's playing at the same show as Morrissey.
    Damn!

  • Are there any dates/cities announced for this yet? Man, I hate traveling festivals like this...

  • Honestly, I am very shy and big festivals frighten me somewhat. I am also afraid that Morrissey will be ill-received. I am afraid of hecklers and the disorderly types. Honest.

Also, the festival setting is a bit impersonal. The security can be hateful. There will be no chance of getting on stage- or even close TO the stage.

I feel 3/4ths of all those present will not even be FANS of Morrissey whatsoever (at least).

It will be great to see Morrissey, and I *will* be present, but I guess I am just honestly afraid.

    Truly,
    Ken

  • the string cheese incident are slated to play a two day show in denver (red rocks) on the 9th/10th of july. seems likely that the palooza show would be in denver somewhere near those dates. i suppose it's not out of the realm of possibility that they could leave the festival between shows to fly to colorado for two shows but logic tells me otherwise.

  • First of all, Lollapalooza is one day event. Second, Audioslave is performing, this festival is unlike-MOZ. Good night and thank you

  • Since when did Lolla become a two-day festival?

Is someone having a go at us? We'll know if we see the announcement on April 1.
