I was just browsing Sanctuary Records UK site when I found that "Irish Blood English Heart" is supposed to be released in three different formats.

ATKSI002 7 Inch Vinyl Single

ATKXS002 CD Single

ATKDX002 CD/DVD Single

Steve Lamacq has just claimed the exclusive first UK radio airing of the track on his Radio 1 show.

And very bloody good it sounded too. Remember - MP3s lie, kids.

Pitchfork Media, a really great music news site, has a review up for the Irish Blood/English Heart single. It's only for the one song, though. Still no news on what the B-sides are to be. Does anyone know? The link is here.

  • Three different formats?

    Morrissey is catching on quickly.

It is a very mixed blessing to be brought back from the dead.
  • Will there be a video?

  • Other than the obvious ploy to buy both cd's, later in the same week if you buy another copy, keep the receipt and return it to the shop the week after stating that it won't play properly and you want a refund. The later in the same week reasoning is because it will look rather suspect if your receipt states that you've bought the same single twice.

Taking stuff back to the vendor is a piece of cake if you have a valid receipt and it is within 21 days of purchase. It's a minor inconvenience in order to rack those sales right up.

Evidently we can't be sure which shops are chart return and thus count as sales but most HMV/Virgins tend to be.

Christ on a bike, even Iron Maiden managed a number one. This is plausible.

  • Search for the single at Amazon.com and you get 3 results. The US single as linked above, and 2 import singles. One is labeled IBEH Part 1 and the second is listed as an enhanced cd and named Part 2.

    Any info on this?

  • Finally Morrissey gets some good BBC Radio 1 coverage! Let the ball start rolling! wooo (they'll slaughter him when they hear 'The World if Full of Crashing Bores', though :P)

  • The Single i received as the music director at a college radio station in Connecticut has no B-side. It is just Irish Blood, English Heart

  • my guess would be that "mexico" will be the b-side for the album since it didn't make it on the album. i could be wrong though.

True friends stab you in the front.
  • Just pre-ordered it and noticed it is up to 614 in the sales ranking. Not bad considering how many artists works they offer and for this being a CD single. The record companies would tell you the CD single format is doomed. As far as I am concerned Morrissey could sell his music attached to a live alligator and I would still buy it. By the way, change someones life and buy an extra copy for them. Payback the karma points for the time someone turned you on to the Smiths or Morrissey. ;)

  • Let's see:

    Gay? No.
    Hound? No.
Tried to sell a bootleg to "ebberyone"? No (unless five people counts as everyone).
    Tout? No.
Anything to do with Madonna tickets? No.

This, folks, is Mozzerian aka most of the IDs used on this site. He spent about 3 days last week accusing me of planning to tout armfuls of Madonna tickets, only to complain on the day that he'd not been able to get hold of any so he could tout himself.

    Tra la la...
