On L.A. radio station, Indie 103.1's "Punk Rock Minute," it was mentioned that The Killers set their amps on fire during the Chicago House Of Blues show when they were opening for Morrissey, which allegedly pissed off Moz royally.

  • I was there. One of their monitors caught fire during their set, and they stopped the show until it was no longer an issue. Sounds like someone's been playing telephone.

  • it started with the singer lighting one of his
farts on fire. Moz dared him to do it.
So he gets what he deserves.

  • are so pathetic. they sound like the second coming of Duran Duran. how they mamged the honour of opening for Morrissey is beyond me [and they even fouled that up].

  • The situation was completely accidental. Only one piece of equipment caught on fire, and the band quickly and abruptly stopped their set so that fire extinguishers could be brought in and the situation handled.

This is an example of really bad news on this website. Most of the news here is great. Believe me, the fire was accidental.

The Killers were great. They put on a solid show. I give them 4 out of 5 stars. They are not to be compared to Duran Duran. The lead singer was not quite animated, and the melodies could have been more original- but overall a good band to watch.

    Sincerely,

    Kenneth G. Stavitzke

ps- the Killers remind me slightly of Idlewild or a pop(?) version of Joy Division (not New Order).

  • I was there. If you saw the look on Brandon's face when it lit up you would know that the incident was a total accident.
