Whilst listening to Hawksbee and Jacobs on Talk Sport Radio this afternoon I heard the two presenters talking about how they had attended the England v Australia Cricket game at Lords in north London on Sunday with comedians Frank Skinner and David Baddiel. At the end of the chat they mentioned that Morrissey was in attendence as the special guest of Lords Cricket ground. Can anyone confirm if morrissey is a cricket fan and if he was seen around London at the weekend?

  • That the Poms have beaten the Aussies in any match over the last 5 years?

The way i heard it was that many "famous" people were invited to attend the first test with Moz being one of them.Apparently the fella responsible for the invites is/was a Moz/Smiths fan.

  • I supposed we'll also hear that Morrissey went on the field and performed a particularly moving rendition of Belle and Sebastian's "Piazza, New York Catcher"...

Actually, I wouldn't mind hearing that, but the female Mets fan in my life would brutally kill me for even suggesting that...

  • Why? I guess it's because I'm American that I do not understand this game! I've tried watching it (on the only "British" stations I get -- BBC America and Skynews) but I could only last five seconds! So Boring! Someone please explain this game to me and maybe it will become more interesting. but i doubt it

  • He was there writing in a book how big of a loser you are for caring about this kind of crap. Get a life, he hates fans that are freaks like you. If you got the chance to shake his hand he'd turn you down b/c you're a loser.
