Seems like an unlikely move for Morrissey, & since Boz has just announced his packed schedule for the year (which includes nothing to do with Mozzer), i think it's safe to say it's just another festival cashing in on Morrissey's name.
There's a chance he'll be there if Nancy's playing, but i doubt he'll be whipping out his iron lungs. Ahem.

It sounds likely if Nancy Sinatra is there; does anyone think she might be the 'new signing' he spoke about? (for those of you who believe everything I say, that's just one I made up earlier).
The thing is, it depresses me a little to hear rumours of him playing so far away. How many of us here can make it to Rio?

Jesus christ guys you will not fucking believe this, i was sitting at my window right and this mother fucking PIG just goes flying past and he had wings and everything! He had landing wheels and fire coming out of his snout, and he had the words "marry me" written on his side .. dunno why, but he also was wearing a saddle and little mice were sitting on his back .. man it was awesome!

Just to clear this up, TIM is a telecom operator in Brazil - Telecom Italia Mobile. They sponsor the event.

Number 1: As exciting as the idea may be, Moz has expressed some discontent with Sanctuary over the booking of events. After the whole Isle of Wight fiasco, he stated that he had made no confirmation about ever showing up there to begin with, and how the label uses his name without much of his say. He urged us, the fans, not to believe anything that is said about future appearances unless it comes from him. I think we should heed that warning now.

2. How realistic does a show like this sound? Whether it be through friendship, admiration, or a cover - The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Nancy, and Outkast have all been associated with Moz in one way or another throughout the past few years. I'm not saying that a show like this is impossible, but you know something is up when such a diverse set of musicians are billed for the same event...even though it does take place over the course of a few days, I don't get a good vibe from it. Maybe it's just me...

3. The second story of the day, concerning Boz's schedule, seems to make no mention of any shows with Moz. I checked on his site, and there are currently no mentions of an October date with Moz yet there are November dates for "Boz and the B-Men". And it is far too big a stretch to suppose that Moz is no longer associated with Boz or even planning to collaborate with anyone else. If Moz goes to war, he's bringing his guys with him.

Lastly, TIM is not a dude clones. This concert was not curated by some rich dude named Tim who just decided to borrow some land in Brazil so that he could meet his idol Morrissey. This is the case like how Moz didn't end up doing the "Perry" festival last year due to low ticket sales.

Look, I know that between albums we have to find stuff to talk about, but let's not go overboard with this one. Read a book...exercise...get a job...do whatever you want, but don't villianize Moz if he ends up "pulling out" of this event since it is likely that he doesn't even know about all this talk himself. Get some fresh air, HE will be here when you get back.

Morrissey said not to believe any concert bookings unless you hear it straight out of his mouth. You can't even go by his official web site. So, now Morrissey must personally and publicly confirm each and every concert, and if not, by his own words he doesn't want you to buy a ticket.

I hope that this notice is true...

I live in Rio and some weeks ago I read in a newspaper that the festival organizers were contacting some artists and that one "dream" (note the word!) would be to bring Moz and Nancy Sinatra. I didn't post anything on that because well we all know what to say: Moz has not even been contacted, even if he was, remember all the festivals he missed, etc.
Just yesterday, in the same newspaper a notice on the festivals that are going to take place in Brazil in the 2nd semester of 2005. In the TIM line-up no mention to Moz. And of course it is expected so, as the organizers noted some time ago that this was a "dream". Though dreams may come true, most of them never do!

I will have once again to cross this country (Brazil) by bus to attend the gig.
Well I live some 1.800 km far from Rio, it means 38 hours inside a bus!
