According to True-to-You, the next show will be the rescheduled show in Boston. The wording of the statement is such that some postponed shows might not be made up.

First off, I don't know of anyone who would be granted this many sick days without a verification of their illness, or potentially being let go altogether. So, enough with the equivocations.
However, that's not the point. The point is, you are now witnessing why past, inexplicable cancellations that date back to the days of The Smiths have come back to haunt him. In the event that he does experience a valid illness, many will merely see it as typical for a Morrissey tour. The boy who cried wolf.
Morrissey has never been a person of great resolve. The vast majority of his life could be described as a lazy existence. Many bands perform more dates than Morrissey ever has with hangovers, and numerous other ailments, and they find a way to carry on. Why? Well, they don't want to let anyone down. It's not as if Morrissey is giving it his all, even when he's in good form. If he can't tour this long without experiencing throat problems, then it's either time for him to hang it up, or to pick his dates wisely. Constantly leaving your fans hanging does not produce good will.
But of course we know that Moz has designer clothes to buy and rent to pay. Inflation waits for no man.

as for those saying he is faking it and such. if he really has a viral infection or laryngitis, that can be awful. i had a bad case of it last year, and there's so much more to it than losing your voice.

Yes, Morrissey is now heavily indebted to his fans. He should reschedule ALL of the shows, in particular, the tri-state area shows. According to his Myspace profile, he's playing until July 21st. That means we have the WHOLE month of August open for rescheduled shows, provided that the venues can honor them.
Although for some reason, I feel very pessimistic about the whole rescheduling thing. If what you all say is true about Moz/The Smiths not rescheduling shows in the past, then he may not do anything about it. And if that's the case, I will seriously throw out EVERYTHING I have of him (CDs, posters, etc.).

as a person who formerly traveled far and wide for Morrissey shows, my advice is that if you must travel to go see him, at least go to a place where you can get a good tourist-y experience like NYC or Boston. don't make the thing strictly about Morrissey. as a matter of fact, it seems that the more forgiving responses have been from people who have done exactly that.
also, don't give more than you are willing to lose. there is no higher being looking out for you and your airfare and hotel expenses. "i'm a good person and i should be rewarded with a morrissey show" flies with no deity. similarly, asking "why am i being punished after working so hard to get to this show?" does not create any sense of pity with the forces of the universe. if morrissey gets sick, it's through the ancient practice of germs hopping from one person to another and using that person as a host to make more germs. germs have one mission and they generally don't respond to your prayers that they bypass this particular host because you had already arranged time off from work.

When the venue and/or promoter stall for a day to inform ticket buyers that a show is cancelled is completely wrong. I have a ticket for Philadelphia and by total chance checked the Mann Center website two days before the show and learned that the show was postponed. I have to drive 6 1/2 hours each way to get to the show and so booked a hotel. Fortunately, I still had time to cancel my hotel and not get screwed for the reservation. However, I was not informed by the venue until the night before the show that it had been postponed, in which case I would have been charged for my hotel whether or not I showed up.
What is completely wrong with this is that ticket buyers weren't informed until a day after the show was postponed according to the venue website. This day would have made a difference in my case and I think it is fair to say that people who didn't find out about it on their own earlier lost money on transportation, hotels.... In fact, despite the show being postponed Ticket Philadelphia and Ticketmaster continued to sell tickets to the show for basically a day after it was postponed. I contacted both of them to ask why they were still selling tickets and they said that they had to been informed of the change by the venue and/or promoter, it is afterall their show. Basically their hands were tied until they were told officially of the postponement.
How many people lost money due to the fact that the venue/promoter waited to inform ticket holders when they could have piped up a day before thereby giving extra time to cancel reservations...? How many service charges were racked up during that day that ticket buyers are not going to get refunded if the show is cancelled. This is really bad business on part of the venue and the promoter (Live Nation I believe in this case). I don't think they really care what it costs the fans. In some case (eg. Ram's Head) there just wasn't enough time to warn fans of the postponement, but in the case of Philadelphia, as an example, I know the extra day would have made a difference.
This has nothing to do with Morrissey or the ticket vendors. It has everything to do with the management and/or the venues in how they handle this.

David Letterman is also disgusting --- as is anyone who eats adorable cute animals.
Letterman probably tortures little animals as well.
I am watching the Twilight Zone marathon right now and Betty White is on the commercial and I think she loves animals so I think I love her too. I also think Rod Serling is a genus ---- but no one can hold a candle to you. You were, are, and always will be #1 in my book and that is all that matters.
These people that are being bad to you remind me of selfish, insensitive, cruel and heartless cretins that only care about you ripping off your shirt in the spotlight and what set list you are performing as well as getting their money back. I, for one, care about how you feel, physically and psychologically and I care only about you feeling happy and in good spirits. But does “happy” even really exist - I think feeling happy is only temporary and most people are perpetrating a fraud when they pretend their lives are so “wonderful” but then again, maybe they really night be --- who knows - what do I know anywys. But the one thing that I do know is that you are the most intelligent, beautiful, talented and compassionate man on this unhappy planet. That much “I do” know.
The Twilight Zone episode that they showed on this marathon last night regarding the people who had the super natural camera that showed the winning horses -- win, place, and show-- on the board prior to the races being run was hilarious.
The slot machine one is so funny as well.
Secondly, I couldn’t have gone to the gigs myself because of the scenario that I have to put up with somehow -- as usual. I would have gotten on the planes if I’d taken 3 tablespoons of this cough syrup but thanks to you that was not a viable option anymore.
Once again you have made my life brighter and better. Please keep this in mind -- Don’t listen to anyone else -follow your own heart and intuition -- Always.
I want you to get better soon --- and I want to get better as well but I don’t think there is any hope -- for me. But for you there is.
I think I have ranted probably incoherently enough for the evening so I shall resume watching the Twilight Zone which is where I think I actually belong.
And to all of you people ripping Morrissey -- you should be ashamed of yourself. Stop being Mike Joyce clones with no feelings or compassion. I am going to take more cough syrup now and continue watching Rod Serling.
Morrissey, may God be with you -- I love you -- and look forward to seeing you -- whenever that might be.
The short time that I got to see you in Boston up close was a monumental time and thank God I got there even with this controversy going on in my life. Reach for my hand and the race is won.
I am signing off now to resume Rod Serling and scribble some more on a big white paper with my black magic marker in regards to Mike Joyce, aka Mike Gross, being a demon spawn.
btw-you should have won. That money grubbing lunatic shall get what he deserves. You ----- be a vicTOR --- not a victim. Mike Joyce go choke on your own vomit.

He had to include his e-mail address on a small piece of paper or the original receipt (which he used). He was told that they would only be refunding him the original ticket price and convenience charge. The other charge equaling $4.85 per ticket was not to be refunded. He asked the CSR if there was any possibility for rescheduling. Then, he was placed on hold for about 2 minutes. The CSR came back stating the company was made aware of such reschedules for other shows but, these 2 particular shows he was not made aware of. My friend also asked if there were to be any other cancellations in the future and again, he was placed on hold and the CSR stated he wasn't quite sure either.
Today, he phoned me here at work claiming he mailed tickets (prior to mailing though, he made copies of his letters, the envelopes and the tickets plus, he had me as a witness proving he done so), yet, he mailed them back to Ticketmaster using Certified USPS service. He said it was very inexpensive and he gave me the copies of those receipts too, for safe-keeping. We also copied down the address for where we mailed them too, in case of a "problem".
