THE restoration of the iconic Salford Lads Club has been wrecked after thieves climbed scaffolding to steal guttering and lead from the roof.
The Grade II listed club was left open to the elements with heavy rain pouring inside.
Volunteers and contractors have been working since Tuesday to bail rain water out of the boxing ring where plasterwork and wooden paneling has been ruined.

the problem is that the prize of lead and copper
is very high at the moment, so this is not a Manchester/UK prob, but also on the main land of Europe
Here in the Netherlands idiots digged out copper
cables alongside the railways, and new buildings.
Lead is found on old houses, if a city desides
to demolish old houses
