  • True. And yeah, I think he might tour later this year as well- maybe Novemberish. I quite like the fact that for this tour he's doing some gigs that are more off the beaten track, more obscure venues etc (although the York Barbican is quite big).

Yeah, hopefully not. The fact that it's a fairly short tour kind of reassures me though- with any luck he won't have too much opportunity to get ill. That man needs multivitamins. :D

Haha. You take a hard line. Luckily my mum's transferring some money from my ING account so I can pay her tomorrow (managed to get standing tickets, thankfully).

Yeah, I think she'd be pretty gutted not to get tickets as well though so that should provide adequate motivation, and I've threatened her with my wrath if she messes it up- she's known me long enough to know that my wrath is not a pretty sight. Also, her booking them means I don't have to spend £70 pounds outright as I'm ridiculously low on funds at the moment and I can wait until my next month's money comes through to pay her back. Never said I wasn't financially scrupulous. :D

Yeah. Luckily though my friend is booking for me (I never have my debit card details with me when I'm away during the week) and she has no college in the morning so hopefully she'll be able to get online as booking opens. I do get jittery about things like this selling out before I manage to get tickets though; it's happened to me far too many times for comfort, although usually because I don't pay attention and therefore only find out a couple of months after they go on sale. :p

York hopefully- the friend I'm going with has relatives up there (well, more Leeds-area really) who have agreed to let us stay with them, which is good. Just need to get tickets now and I'll be laughing.

Yeah, hopefully by the time he next tours I'll be at uni so it'll at least be easier to get to places for gigs (my top choice university is right next to the railway station and quite close to a few other places).

Jeez, you're so lucky living where you do gig-wise. No-one good ever comes to Norwich, and when they do I always miss it, In fact, I think the closest decent gig I've been to was Regina Spektor in Cambridge, which is about 2 and a half hours away.

I haven't really listened to them to be honest, I probably should though as they're supposed to be quite good. I really need to start discovering more 'new' music, the majority of the artists I listen to have been around a few years, but not a lot of new stuff excites me at the moment.

Ah, I see. What was the album called again? The NME sometimes cover some good music, but most of the time it just pisses me off, the whole hype they created around The Arctic Monkeys for example.

Ooh really, interesting, I don't read the NME much. Or any music magazines in fact, I tend to just blindly grope my way around the musical landscape. I do quite like The Courteeners, although their second album is much better than their first.

Christ, 600? Impressive, I probably only have about 50, and I don't really 'collect' in the truest sense of the word (although to be fair I only started buying CDs about 18 months ago, and have no job and therefore no money to buy them with). You could probably get a record player on ebay or something, I've seen them in some electrical shops as well.

Probably, I'm pretty sure we've had a similar conversation at some point. :p I just have various sets of drawers and anything that doesn't go in those just gets put wherever there's a space for it. I think the only part of my room that's actually tidy is my bookshelf and music collection, and then any DVDs go downstairs in the massive set of shelves in the living room (we must have at least 300).
