Is this the same one? An anonymous person writes:

I was reading in Entertainment Weekly magazine that the house Morrissey currently resides in is for sale?!? It's current asking price is $3.2 million. Can anyone else confirm this?

Another anonymous person writes:

This week's Entertainment Weekly has an article on page 19 titled "Gimme Shelter."

A 4 bedroom, 7 bath, 3,700 sq ft. Spanish estate built in 1926, formerly owned by Carole Lombard and Clark Gable, is being described as for sale by Prudential California Realty for $3.2 million!

  • Maybe he's short on money and can't afford it anymore. If this is true, I've got some advice for him. MAKE A BLOODY RECORD!!!
I can't think of any other reason than that one for wanting to sell your house which has been lived in by one of the greatest actresses that ever lived and one of the worst actors that ever lived.
I can't see him moving back to England though, his relationship with the press is still pretty strained, but it would be great if he did.

  • The reason he is moving is because everyone and there mother can walk up to his door.(Ambitious Outsiders). So, I believe the king of sorrow needs a little more privacy.Becauses I would hate it if I looked out my window and I saw people hiding in my trees and peeping over the fence. That would get rather bothersome. So, for all of you stalkers out there--Stay Away!!! Give the man his peace and maybe he will stay in Los Angeles.

  • I heard years ago that Morrissey leased this property. Is that true. But in any case, I'm sure he is sooo sick of answering questions about it. Every interview asks about it. And, frankly, $3.2 million is chump change for a house these days. Or rather, it's a lot of money, but it doesn't buy all that much square footage, unless you live in Kanas or outer Mongolia.

  • I knew he would move back to that grey place sooner or later. First no solo show in LA for this tour, and now he's abandoning us. What's next?

  • because it is a horrid town! (or hum drum for sure!)

Nasty and empty downtown surrounded by endless highways which lead to worthless suburbs that either force themselves onto the beach or stretch into the hills.

He still has his house in Dublin lets not forget. I suspect he will want to be closer to Britain if he is planning on recording his new material soon. He will never base himself ( legally speaking ) in Britain whilst Joyce has claim on his money so this would be a shrude move.

  • I remember reading in Q magazine some years ago that Morrissey was the 64th richest U.K entertainer -with some 8 million pounds - and that (outside of the obvious cash he's made from his music and touring) he made his fortune from buying and selling properties.
If I recall correctly, Morrissey apparently purchased his L.A pad for approx 1 million, so really, he's only selling his place to turn a massive profit.

Gable's Tara! 4 BR, 7 BTH Spanish estate in Beverly Hills PRICE $3.2 million A house to give a damn about. Built in 1926, this romantic spread is the former abode of Gone With the Wind star Clark Gable and wife Carole Lombard. The 3,700-square-foot home boasts such modern amenities as a wine cellar, a gym, an indoor spa with a 16-person Jacuzzi, and a top-notch security system. Outside, there's a private tropical park, in addition to an entertainment area big enough to hold 500 people. (Joe Babajian and Kyle Grasso of Prudential California Realty share the listing with Trista Rullan and Mauricio Umansky of Hilton & Hyland.)

I have read that Gable had built many houses in the LA area.

what i am saying is.... morrissey... move to florida.

nah , this is weird, so he's moving?

  • Um, hello?

Someone already posted a blurb about this item being fake, yet we still have people discussing it as if he is actually moving. Morrissey in his most recent interviews has reiterated his love for the property, so it makes little sense that he would being selling it now.
