Morrissey's new album features a song called Munich Air Disaster, 1958"

For those who don't know: The Munich Air disaster involved a plane carrying most of the Manchester United football team. Many talented young sportsmen lost their lives.

I believe that Morrissey's father nearly became a professional football player after some tragedy wiped out the local team, and open tryouts were held. It would be interesting if it were this tragedy (timeline seems to be right.)

If this is true then all the fooking muppets perhaps will shut up regarding where the mans heart really is when it comes to football. I've said for years you can't understand the man if you're not a Man United fan and now perhaps that will be there for all to see.
All the Shitty fans and what not can then just fook off and listen to Oasis and Beatles and let the real fans get on with it as we are 100% connected to Morrissey in a way you can never be.

Football trivia question related to Munich!!! (Score:0)

Perhaps it will be an analogy of Morrissey and Duncan Edwards? (Duncan Edwards is regarded by Scum fans and fellow professionals at the time as the greatest ever English player, who died in said air crash at Munich... well at the hospital. ie he could have been great but twas not to be.. a bit like Moz after the Smiths broke up! The way he probably sees it sometimes)

Eight players died and 15 non-players died. As unfortunate as the accident was it took place nearly 50 years ago and the pious rags from Singapore to Cork who worship Yahnited pretend to still be upset about it. No doubt if Morrissey's song comes across as insensitive we can expect an outcry from loads of people who weren't even alive when this minor tragedy happened. CTID.
