Morrissey A-Z: "I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now"

Fantastic vocals, and I love the Roy Orbinson compariso. For me, this should have been the second single. One of my favorites on ROTT.

Percussion Discussion: Chad Smith says "just finished a Morrissey album" - Iggy Pop guests on it (February 20, 2021)

That's right, Alain is probably filling in for Boz right now :):):)

Percussion Discussion: Chad Smith says "just finished a Morrissey album" - Iggy Pop guests on it (February 20, 2021)

I actually think that Gustavo lives in Austin Texas. That's why I brought up Roger Manning Jr. If Boz can't join the studio recording sessions due to the circumstances, then we can probably expect one of those rumors that he has left the band :) .

Roger Manning Jr, who often plays keyboards on Morrissey albums, is also based in CA.

Percussion Discussion: Chad Smith says "just finished a Morrissey album" - Iggy Pop guests on it (February 20, 2021)

Endorsed by Jesse, it must be true. And he got Iggy Pop to sing with him, wow! I wasn't expecting a new Morrissey album in the making so soon after IANADOAC, but this post made my day.

Morrissey A-Z: "If You Don't Like Me, Don't Look at Me"

Coming up with a fantastic title is a talent in itself though.

Morrissey A-Z: "If You Don't Like Me, Don't Look at Me"

Interesting thought. I'd like to think it is not intentionally. However, if you want a heavy guitar-based sound but can't work with the top notch guitarists around, get a lame producer, co-write with average or inexperienced composers, rely on the services of a professional touring band whose...

    Morrissey A-Z: "I'd Love To"

As well as the early version of Jack The Ripper, which was included on the Certain People I Know EP

    Morrissey A-Z: "I'd Love To"

More atmospheric than melodic, I can see why this song wasn't included on V&I. But the dreamy music fits the mood of the words, and I find Morrissey's voice very compelling. It's a "like" for me.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Wish You Lonely"

I adore the words of the last verse with its animal rights reference: I wish you lonely Like the last trapped humpback whale Chased by gunships from Bergen But never giving in, never giving in I always feel like this last humpback whale might be Morrissey himself and it is powerful imagery. The...

Morrissey A-Z: "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden"

I can easily imagine having fun with this cover during one of his concerts, such a cheerful and uplifting song. And I really think that Morrissey and band offered a faithful and exciting version of the Lynn Anderson version. But these covers firmly belong to the concert halls for me, I am not a...

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know Very Well How I Got My Name"

So Morrissey was the first to have green hair, and Billie Eillish commercialized it?

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know Very Well How I Got My Name"

One of his saddest songs, deeply moving and nearly perfect.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday"

It’s the same with “ Pleas, please, please, let me get.what I want this time”

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday"

An explosion of desire, brilliantly delivered with a strong sensé of urgency. it is wonderful to hear how much emotion his voice could express at this point. And the Gods were listening too :) :)

    Morrissey A-Z: "I Knew I Was Next"

There's certainly much more variation in Morrissey's music than he's ever been given credit for. Going through his entire catalogue in this alphabetical order also made me more aware of thematic shifts between albums next to some recurring themes. Some albums, like ROTT and V&I and VH, really...

    Morrissey A-Z: "I Knew I Was Next"

It's "If you don't like me, then don't look at me" , another ROTT era B-side, that he's been playing to death recently.

    Morrissey A-Z: "I Knew I Was Next"

A pleasant vocal melody, which means I can enjoy it from time to time as part of the YHKM single package.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Just Want to See the Boy Happy"

Interestingly, I was also thinking that his vocal harmony and vocal range are somewhat disjoint from the music, reminiscent of some early Smiths songs.
