Morrissey A-Z: "Don't Make Fun of Daddy's Voice"

Personally I always thought this song was a bit clumsy. I vaguely recall there was a hope on this forum that it was going to be released as a single

    Morrissey A-Z: "Asian Rut"

I think the end of the song when he sings about passing through is probably my favourite part of the whole album.

Morrissey A-Z: "America Is Not the World"

For me it is one of the weakest songs on the album, I could definitely remove it for one of the b-sides such as Friday Mourning

    Morrissey A-Z: "Alsatian Cousin"

Personally I love Alsatian Cousin and think it is seriously under rated.

    Best debut album

This is my favourite Soft Cell lyrics: "As for me, well I'll find someone who's not goin' cheap in the sales A nice little housewife Who'll give me a steady life and not keep going off the rails" Pure brilliance , I do think Soft Cell are very under rated

Songs you never want to hear live again

I actually agree on all not these apart from How Soon is Now, he can never play too many Smith's songs 😄 (apart from Meat is Murder - obviously) Also, am I the only one who thinks I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris is a truly dreadful song?

    Most overrated band/singers?

Whilst I am sure I will get bombarded with abuse with this post, but I genuinely think The Beatles are over rated. I am not saying they didn't write some great songs, but I am confused on why they are put on a pedestal and seen as being the greatest band ever when clearly they aren't

What was the first The Smiths / Morrissey record you bought?

Hatful of Hollow on cassette, best decision I very made

Question How would you rate the Morrissey cover designs

I am not a Dog is definitely his worst album cover ever, god is it pure shite! Ironically, his worse musically, World Peace is my favourite sleeve

Who have you seen live? And best gigs in general

My old boss saw Oasis at the O2 Arena, London a few years back and was shocked that a lot of the audience were there for a punch up as much as seeing the band with Liam egging them on from the stage. Apparently he left before the end because he didn't want to be stood at the tube station with...

Who have you seen live? And best gigs in general

When I saw The Courteeners in Oxford after the release of their second album, I was surprised by the amount of knob heads at that gig. It was the only time I have seen a band and actually was concerned for my wife safety. I can't say the band were even that good which was a surprise

Who have you seen live? And best gigs in general

Yeah that show was recorded for the video. I think I managed to get my tickets direct from the venue. Drove all the way up from Somerset for the show and stayed overnight in Manchester, not that we got much sleep as a drunken Man Utd fan decided to sing very loudly outside of our bedroom window...

Who have you seen live? And best gigs in general

Best gig, either Morrissey- Manchester 2004, Morrissey- RAH 2009, Tears For Fears - Blenheim Palace 2019, Suede - London 2018 or the time I went to see Culture Club in Bournemouth and their supporting act, the Human League blew them out of the water. Worst gig, The Damned sometime in Poole who...

    Best debut album

Going by the criteria of great debut albums and not necessarily a band best album, I would add: Tears for Fears - The Hurting Dexy's Midnight runners - Searching for the Young Soul Rebels Deacon blue - Rain Town Dio - Holy Diver James Blunt - Back to Bedlam The Courteeners - At Jude Soft Cell...

David Bowie & Morrissey: "Cosmic Dancer (Live)" digital single & YT audio released today (November 13, 2020)

Piccadilly Records are also now taking pre-orders, sorry I can't get the link to work on this new tablet! Interestingly, they are taking the money for the vinyl now but won't bill you for the cost of the postage until they are about to send it?

    Worst Morrissey song

Morrissey rarely releases a duff track, however Kiss me a Lot, World Peace and Throwing My Arms are all cringe worthy and I almost forgot, Sweetie Pie

    Favourite Morrissey cover version

Personally I don't like it when Morrissey covers a song however, I really love his version of Back on the Chain gang. A brilliant song anyway but some how he improves it.

Favourite Morrissey album tracks / b-sides

Nobody Loves Us is one of favourite Morrissey songs of all let alone as a favourite b-side. Obviously Morrissey isn't that keen on it as he has only sung it live 17 times and yet embarrassing dross like I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris he has sung live 434 times
