..it is a decent song ! Not as good as some of the other stuff on the album, but certainly not deserving of some of the criticism it gets, and surely not the weakest track..

its one of my favourites...has the same kind of feel to it as lazy sunbathers in my opinion

i love the bit where he sings

and iiiiiiiiiiiii have never felt so alive in the whooole of my life

you took the words out of my mouth - reminds me of lazy sunbathers too!

I think it's positon on the record strengthens it too..

I think it's even better than that. It was my favourite at first and then I later felt it was equal with two or three others. I've now become familiar with the whole album and 'ATLD' has withstood the competition and is now undoubtedly my favourite song on the album.
It's effortlessly cool with a hint of menace and a brilliant line in,"when you look at me, you actually see me", which is a great dig at marriage and the way husbands look at their wives (and vice versa).
It also doesn't have any of the bitching that almost becomes tedious on other songs (magistrates, legal eagles, accountants, jobsworths in uniform).
And the ending, as mentioned, is first-rate.

A top f***in notch song. Wonderful stuff.
