Some of you are actually looking forward to this? You gotta be freaking kidding me!
First of all, I don't mean any disrespect to my man Jay for posting the flyer. This is a Moz site, and any contributions of the ilk, are appreciated and expected.
Having said that, you mean to tell me there are Moz Angelinos that are hyped about this abortion? Let me tell you Moz fan: save your money. If you've gone once, you've gone 10 times. It's the same shpiel:
Overpriced/undersized Moz shirts that we've seen a million times before, and frankly, if you didn't already have it, what's the point by now?
Cheap buttons and bumper stickers made by April Juggs and sold by the Emily Strange twins.
"Bootlegs" of the type that have all floated around here once or 20 times before freely, now at around 11 bucks a pop if not more...
An appearance by Mal-Hack shedding a tear during his acoustic rendition of "Sunny" followed by shameless jocking at the bar for free drinks and pretending like everyone was SO there to see him....
Watered down drinks and loner Greasers who somehow get drunk off it and start dogging other guys that are alone with their chick....
The same drunk assholes that talk shit to the real people participating in the contests and quizzes yet cower in fear at the thought of being onstage unless it is to mosh during London...
and finally the futile efforts of some weak sideshow band that tries to make some money off of the Convention's lack of Morrissey himself....oh wait a minute...I already mentioned Jose didn't I?
Whoever hasn't been there before, it would be well advised to go. Why? Because you'll always kick yourself in the
ASS for not going. How can anything "Smiths/Morrissey Convention" be that bad right?
You'll have a blast your first time, but it gets old next time around. Personally, if I want to meet old friends, i'll grab my Blackberry. If I want something cheap and quick, i'll grab my Nicole Peters collection.
Cheers
