yes because I was banging the maths teacher in her car, thats why I avoided school but I always got an A in maths.
Sure. He clearly knew you’d never make it as a rent boy so your maths teacher gave you a chance to get a real job. Nice man.

I’ll tell you what matters. Morrissey could previously fill that place out, with every standing ticket whipped up instantly. And that as in the midst of a multi legged UK tour. Now he can’t even half fill it on a Friday night when it’s one of only 2 gigs in the entire UK. Thats tangible proof that his once hardcore fan base here have turned their backs on him.

Whatever brave face Morrissey puts on this. However he frames it (blaming the media, hiding behind his phoney notion that his free speech is being challenged) this will hurt him.

I’m totally and genuinely heartbroken, I’m in my hotel room, now sober and can’t believe what me and my daughter have seen last night. Voice and band were great as always...... but the lack of thought and input with the choice of songs last night..... I’m not taking this well at all, I thought that it may be time for moz , as we have all done for years , to shake things up ... but no... no ... . I won’t be going out of my way anymore for the same crap when it could be so much better......... heartbrokenbazz.

If this is a genuine post then I am genuinely sorry that this has been your experience.

In 2011 I had a similar awakening and I too felt heartbroken by what I described as Morrisey-by-numbers. I felt the fans at the gig, myself included, had been taken for granted as the tired, uninspired setlist echoed through my head once again. The experience is a subjective one, I'm sure others will have enjoyed the gig I was at and the gig last night but ... Morrissey cannot afford to lose fans. I did think, given the current situation, he'd play more big hitters but I'm not surprised he didn't.

He had more fans when he had good publicity & the UK's political scene wasn't so complex or divisive?

Who cares.

He can get an audience when he's old, completely demonized, without any good publicity, in the middle of political meltdown.

If I was him, I'd find that more thrilling than keeping hold of the fair weather friends who think it's still the 1980s.

‘My hurling days are done’ for anyone interested.

FWD.

Another bit of nonsense. "Who cares". You seem to care as is evidence by your pseudo-political comments that contain infantile vox-pops rather than anything substantive.

He'll do well with you rather than his "fair weather" friends:
You, who didn't go to Leeds - too far from London, eh?
You, who've been a member of this forum for just a few months and shown your abject ignorance as to your understanding of Morrissey's once long-standing fanbase.
You, who always has 'something' to say but consistently fails to say it with conviction - as illustrated above. "Who cares". You do!

He's not 'demonized'. Some people don't agree with some of his views, as is their right. Morrissey, the fierce advocate of free speech that he is, should applaud those who exercise the right to disagree with him. Plenty of people do agree with his views. More still don't agree with him, but love him anyway.

Thank you so much for saying this.

Bless you. You sum it up perfectly. Plenty of those supposedly defending him don't really like him (Respo/R3-D3, anyone?). They're only here because he sported a ridiculous badge that chimes with their own confused and hateful views. Well. Look where it has lead him to: a barely half-filled venue on a Friday evening. What a far cry from the days when places like this would be sold out within minutes of being advertised. If this is repeated at Wembley Arena, this will stand as irrefutable and inescapable proof posiitive of the self-sabotage Morrissey has done to his UK fan base over the last 3-4 years. A fan base that was once upon a time amongst the most loyal and fanatical in all of pop. Cutting your nose off to spite your face has consequences. Although he won't say it, Mozza is fast finding this out the hard way.

No - you don't get it.

You don't get how UK politics has changed - he's not supporting the rich & powerful - if he was his 'viability as a recording artist' wouldn't be dented. He's as anti-establishment & anti-bigotry as he ever was. You just don't know what the establishment or bigotry is any more. For example:

Helen Steel - of McLibel fame - has been banned from hard left events for being a 'transphobe' & she's one of many socialist women on the lists.

The Manchester Report confirmed that accusations of racism were used to cover-up the abuse of vulnerable girls.

The Labour Party was nearly wiped out in the general election, our core support is now rich people in London & students in university towns AND we're being investigated for institutional racism.

His reputation might be in a bad way right now, but his legacy is fine - even if he loves Anne Marie to the bitter end - because there is nothing she will ever be in a position to do that's more shameful than some of the political scandals that are coming down the line.

He is wayward, he is radical. He will be vindicated.
If Helen Steel is banned, they will be banning oxygen from there meetings next. This sounds like a movement selling cultural and intellectual death. The working classes are actually on their menu.

Going back to your @reelfountain days, when you strutted about like a pigeon on a chessboard? And who are you to tell others to register, eh? Freedom of speech and expression cuts both ways. You're here under a pseudonym yourself. What a hypocrite you reveal yourself to be when you comment upon their status. Woeful.

some times i can connect to jesse's mind but i really hate it when he's doing that cum face
And I hate your cum. Attitude! Looser. I love Jessehe e is a great guitarrist. I'm a happy girl when I see him playing Jack the ripper. - this joke isn't funny.. etc. So. Leave him alone

Message for the haters, and everyone's least favorite cadaverous relative in particular:

If you're gonna run home and cry then
Don't waste my time
If you're gonna kill yourself
Then for God's sake
Just kill yourself

Nonsense. The working classes - whatever their ethnicity - get on with it and survive, no matter what. I know, being working-class myself. You have no choice. Something I learnt from from my parents, older siblings and neighbours I grew up amongst.
