Kenzo Premieres Their Latest Campaign Film, The Realest Real - Vogue

Excerpt:

Monday night, at Metrograph in the Lower East Side, Kenzo’s Carol Lim andHumberto Leon premiered their latest fashion film, The Realest Real, a darkly comedic take on the duo’s superfan-inspired Fall 2016 collection and the social media era. Carrie Brownstein wrote and directed, and was on hand to sip champagne and fete the film with the likes of Chloë Sevigny, Adam Selman, Natasha Lyonne, and more.

“We brought on Carrie really early on, before we even showed the men’s collection,” said Leon. “And somehow the stars aligned, and it was really the right collection to showcase with her. We talked about our inspiration and being mega fans and being really inspired by the crazy universe of fans. The Beatles, Elvis, Morrissey—the fans take on almost another life. You’re in your own world and community and you turn into these people. Carrie was really inspired by that idea and wrote this script for us that couldn’t be more relevant and perfect.”
