I think this deserves its own thread, no?

It's certainly unusual - got a bit of an Indian vibe about it.
A Morrissey/Tobias composition, apparently, possibly with a guest backing singer.

I actually really like it! A nice little surprise... It definitely reminds me of some of the fun b-sides from the early 90's. I can't really understand some of the lyrics since the audio quality is a bit of a drab, but from what I can pick out, it seems pretty funny :)

i really like the sound of it and the violin

but find it difficult to follow the lyrics like the part at the beginning.

yes, and the world would be a better place without certain full-time dicks that nobody wants to see around any longer. at least thats my take on it after the first listen.

Not sure i hear an Indian vibe to it ... but definitely a gypsy/folk/country type vibe going on ... thinking of a band mixing Gogo Bordello and Round Mountain Girls or something .... I really dig the music. Hard to comment on the lyrics, bit hard to make out.

Now I’m/I’ve? grown?
and I’ve fold/I’m full??
on many sides??, not just one
I thought you was dead

Content
With my own thoughts
In my own bed
That’s because I thought you was dead

And it was so nice, so nice, it’s all been, it’s all been so nice, it’s been so nice

Having now
Opened wide
Everything in its place and time, now it's mine
I hoped you was dead

?? to the last,
Leave the past
In the past
This means you(?), I thought you was dead

And it was so nice, so nice, it’s all been, it’s all been so nice, it’s been so nice

Freedom now,
never gloom/blue
happiness all afternoon
Can’t you get this in your thick head?

It’s all gone,
Peace? won,
five words, ??
I thought you was dead

And it was so nice, so nice, it’s all been, it’s all been so nice, it was so nice, so nice, so…

I think the song is about his inner self deprecating voice being dead.

Any other thoughts?

There's obviously a pun here too.
Moz is toying with concepts of peace, happiness etc (almost bordering on 'enlightenment'),
and the foundation for all of this is someone ceasing to be - it's a classic Moz put down.
Revelling in someone's death enough to bring him great joy.
Left ambiguously open with the question: "can't you get this..." - which he wouldn't say to a dead person?
So the thought part of the song and the was so nice imply he hasn't had the last laugh?
Regards,
FWD.

Dig it. That wonderful dark sense of humor Moz delivers so well. Hope a a mastered version comes out soon. Is he planning on a solo album soon? Besides the covers album of course

I’ve bought the 7“ today in Germany.
The b-side sounds like a demo with the sound is so poor. Reminds me of „Treat me like a human being“.
Maybe It would grow on me with clear sound and voice. But with this crap sound I’m truly disappointed!

As I'm a big fan of throwaway Moz b-sides I really like it. So much better than that insufferable Marr single.

EDIT. I actually love the song now.

It‘s sounds sooooo awful quality wise, even if they would have discribed it as a demo recording, which they did not. WHY put this garbage out?
