Peter Hook: "I am an object of hate on the Morrissey fan club site"

I suspect Hooky has a problem with Moz cause the disappearing quiff one is gay.

Hooky always spoke his mind and wasn't exactly impressed when Ian Curtis was rolling about having his epilepsy attacks. Hooky could have lead an army in any war and millennials are touchy when it comes to real men as they themselves are of course littered with female hormones from toxic things and plastic bottles.

Hooky would never sport the bra you lot will when you are his age.

This sounds like what a skinhead at Finsbury park would have said to Morrissey moments before he was booed off the stage for being effeminate.

The toxic things, and plastic bottles remark really drives home your derangement. Nice touch.

Let's be frank, globally speaking, British men have never been the standard when it comes to defining traditional "manhood." Everyone knows all British men are gay. Many have yet to come to terms with it. The more aggressive they are, the more suspicious they become. They'll screw you, and then punch you for making them gay.

I mean, Morrissey refuses to admit he's gay, and the best he can admit to is being openly in the closet.

I pity those people. They're risoners in their own skin.

I Love Hooky. And JD is one of my all time favorite bands. They were flawless.

I agree. Joy Division is the beautiful flawed/flawless band. It is simply incredible that Manchester produced the two greatest bands ever in the Smiths and Joy Division. I like New Order. It isn't NO without Peter. He is the bass god.

new order, worst ever group live, they were utter garbage, dont know who told that singer he could sing because he was hopeless.if anybody on here thinks he can then post a clip.

Morrissey has always been envious of anyone's success and even managed to ruin his relationship with his idol, David Bowie, because he couldn't face the fact that someone else is more popular. So he made his little comment about Joy Division, a band that is really more legendary than The Smiths by every measure. Johnny Marr practically swallows his gum when Morrissey says that thing about "the death" in that old interview.
It must kill Morrissey to see New Order continue to sell out stadiums worldwide 35 years later. Bernard Sumner may not be the greatest singer or lyricist but he is exactly what is needed for New Order.
tl;dr: New Order/Joy Division are great. Morrissey has become a nostalgia act known more for "saying what (he imagines) we're all thinking" than for his music.

Life is all about opinion. Of course younger generations are keen to keep things going and create their own legacy which in this case is a little more than desperate. As someone who hears and reads loads of entertainment and popular culture news I haven't heard one mention of that album.

Surely even the most diehard fan realises that no one out there really cares about New Order like they once used to do. Past their best sell by date by 10-15 years.

Maybe you need to read worldwide entertainment news rather than what's on in Zanzibar this weekend.

Lots of reviews here

I think he was the best option at the time as they didn't want to bring anyone new in. agree they played some shit gigs but that was part of the charm, you never knew what you were going to get, think it depended on the drug and booze choice on the day.

Nowadays they are an excellent live band and Bernard's can at least stay in tune!

Eh? Music Complete is the only album without Hooky and the bass is played by Tom Chapman who also plays with them live. The album is regarded as the best they have recorded in years.
Agree 100%. I'm old enough to have grown up with Hooky as THE bass player for New Order but i still rate Music Complete as one of their best. Its got nothing to do with age. Its got to do with good musicians.

I agree. I grimace a little any time I see any live NO from the last 20ish years or more.

I've seen NO about 7 o 8 times between '89 and a few months ago. Sometimes they are off and the shows isn't good, other times they are utterly brilliant like the second show at the Warwhouse Project in Manchester. Bernard's always had his ups and downs as far as vocals go, remembering lyrics, etc., but I've usually enjoyed their shows immensely (and many of them were with Tom on bass, who is a brilliant player IMO). I also saw Electronic live about 27 years ago, and they were fantastic as well! At least they have never cancelled on me.

He's a far bigger object of hate on the New Order fan club site, the f***ing bitter wanker.

English is not my first language so certain nuances escape me, I am sure but isn't he taking the piss here? Jus a little bit? Having a bit of a laugh and jokingly almost proud to be hated by the Moz-fanclub?
I really wonder if all derogatary things said by him about Moz is meant to be serious. Mancs have a reputation for slashing everything down to the ground, especially other Mancs  and nobody sees them having a pint in the pub.o_O

Awwww!! Boo!! I am not into this! This is fresh 2017 shit-slinging, with shit leftover from 1982,.. or what!? Huh? :p I mean, I think everyone should make the effort and people should have to get some new shit to throw around, at least once in 30+ years. Cause some shit gets old!

I laughed at first when I saw this post, and then I laughed even more when I saw Quando's post, and I was literally about to start typing without even pressing play on the clip, and I WAS GONNA be like, "HEY Surface!! Are you in here?!!! Cause I don't think you should show Hooky that New Order nazi wiki, next time you are out walking your dogs together!" :lbf: Kind of because I wouldn't want Hooky to be bummed out and harassed while he's trying to walk his dogs, and mostly just because I thought it was roll around on the floor, die-laughing-out-loud-funny, that anyone would not have known that stuff!

BUT then I started watching the clip, and for like 5 seconds, I was like, oh well! You have to forgive someone for trying to get a laugh out of their own audience, when they're just sitting there trying to be interviewed and everyone, artists or otherwise, really just wants to do as well for themselves as they can. And getting a laugh out of an audience never hurt anyone.

But then it really quickly turned instead of just funny with no mal-intent, to gleefully gloating and sticking in the most childishly mean anecdote that anyone could have pulled out of their hat.

I know it worked in terms of him breaking the ice in his own interview, and giving his audience and his fans what they wanted. BUT!! Lemme do a quick paint-by-numbers explanation! :D

When people come on Moz-Solo, and they go "HEY, MOZZY!! You twatbag! What the frick is even wrong with you!! I think your last album BLOWS, and WHY IS IT NOT 1985 anymore!!! Why WHY WHY!!!!! And all of it, ALL OF THIS, IS ALL ALL ALL YOUR FAULT, Mozzy!!" And then they take a step back, and they (hopefully) think about just how crazy they are, and what they've just said...

And then it's all kind of lost on them anyway, because let's all face it together, sometimes people are more than just a fork or two short of the proverbial picnic. And then they step right up again, and they go, "So, HEY MOZZY!! Why the frick can't you just CHANGE YOUR MUSIC, and JUST BE MORE LIKE HOOKY?! HUH???!! WHY!!"

And well... then, this is what happens. I take a step back myself, and I think, "Wow. Some people really need to make an effort to get out to some more New Order shows, than they're currently allowing themselves." :p

And then I kind of mentally whistle to myself, and think, "Some of the people that say this stuff, well! you're all  cuckcoo, cuckcoo, cuckoo!"

Cause ain't nobody got no time for that kind of crazy talk! :lbf: (And isn't that right, Mozzy?! :dancers:) (And aren't I basically just always right?) Why, yes! Yes I am! But at least I look good, at least I'm funny, and at least I always gotch-yer back! :dancers:

SO!!! Now that we've explained to everyone that Morrissey doesn't want to audition this year to be the lead singer of New Order, let's go have some COCKTAILS!! Well, everyone who's not out buying more New Order tickets! Cause I mean, some people need to go do that!! Well, actually, scratch that all together. Cause ain't nobody got no time to have no crazy cocktails, with nobody off M-Solo!!! :lbf: I'm going by myself! But,... CHA-CHA-CHA!! :dancers:

I think we SHOULD keep feuds going that started in 1982. If not here, where?
