In the October 2003 issue, musicians are asked to list 20 of their favorites. Mark Hoppus, Blink-182's bassist lists "Cemetery Gates". About the song he says, "The song made me learn who Keats and Yeats are."
Nick Zinner, guitarist for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, picks "Bigmouth Strikes Again". He remarks, "Johnny Marr. Jahnny Marr. Johnny Marr. Yeah, the other guy is OK, but really now...."
Finally, Ryan Adams chooses "William it Was Really Nothing". Not sure what this is all about, but he says "the kind of people who don't understand this music are guys who never cry and whose girlfriends have never peed in front of them." Alrighty then.
Both The Smiths and Morrissey are noticeably absent from the editors list of the 1001 songs they recommend to rip offline. '
