The Smiths to reunite for 2020 tour promoted by Live Nation?

A trusted source has sent the following:

Concert industry insiders, not authorized to speak publicly, say concert giant “Live Nation” has won the rights for the long-awaited Smiths reunion to happen next year. We know what you’re already singing to yourself (“stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before”), but because dates and venues are already said to be in the “plotting stage,” this would indicate that a Morrissey-Marr reunion is closer than ever to becoming a reality. There’s no word yet on if all four original members will share the concert stage. Morrissey just completed his “California Son” tour. According to his website, Johnny Marr has no upcoming shows scheduled. Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned.

Can’t see it being a tour.

Maybe four shows.. NYC LA London and Manchester.

This Smiths reunion (minus Mike) will be a great way to promote Morrissey’s new 2020 album and world tour.

Don't think a 4 date tour would produce enough money, to force down all the humble pie they'd need to swallow.

I could actually see this as a possibility of happening, a one and done tour, then everyone goes back to their separate ways, everyone saves face, everyone wins, everyone is fabulously rich beyond their wildest dreams......
Can you? Can you ACTUALLY see it? Lol!

The facts tell a different story but...

You are sleeping. You do not want to believe...

Morrissey loves the stage and adoration, and may probably want to do shows where he fiddles with the set list, probably more than 4, maybe 12
Like he’s fiddled with the same boring, slack-ass shite he’s played on every tour for the past 10 years?

Easy. You can’t see a f***ing thing, except shit. Not with your head buried so far up Melvis’ asshole. Keep yapping.

I doubt it would happen. Morrissey seems very hard work & unlikely to behave himself. It would be good for him though, it might get him away from the alt-right algorithm & more clued up about actual politics.

I will eat my beret if Joyce is involved. He jilted Moz and took his money. In his world that's unforgivable.

What I can see happening is Moz doing an almighty volte-face, renouncing his current position on various political issues, in order to sell tickets and keep that moolah rolling in.

I told you before - it's all about the money - always has been, still is.

IF a reunion ever happened - & I seriously doubt it will - the only almighty volte-face will be yours when you renounce every vile thing you’ve spouted about Morrissey, the love of your pathetic life, & are fighting to clamber on stage at every gig, in the vain hope that your king might touch you, look at you, sweat on your desperate middle-aged, conflicted face.

And you & everybody here knows it.

I doubt very much that Morrissey will be remotely interested in a re-union. And, I don't think Johnny Marr will be interested in re-union either with someone who he has NOTHING in common anymore.

Yeah, your right. Just can’t see Morrissey do a big Smiths tour and another to promote his own album. Then again, I guess he doesn’t have to tour for it, though BMG won’t be pleased.
Does he sell that many records these days? is the money not in touring? I'm sure BMG would see the benefit of a solo artist getting massive exposure through a thing like this.

Oh and Boz quit 3 years ago

The odds. Somewhere between slim and none. What amazes me is why anyone would really want a Smiths reunion. Why? Just so they can complain about the setlist? The genie won't go back into the bottle. If you want a Smiths reunion just play a Smiths record. Leave well enough alone.
Whenever I hear 'a trusted source' I have to laugh.

Yes agree. Guess it’s a matter of when the two tours take place. And to take advantage of the reunion publicity I would assume BMG would want him to tour his album right after.
