the current flu season started a couple of months ago, in 2019.If we treated the flu like we treated coronavirus the entire planet would be canceled.
There have been between 18,000 and 46,000 flu related deaths in the US in the current flu season.

compared to covid19 thats a much longer period of time.
the infection rate of the influenza virus is 1.2-1.5 ppl.
this means that each flu infected person infects appr. 1.2-1.5 ppl.
the infection rate of covid19 seems to be between 2.4-3.x ppl.
this means the virus spreads much faster.
this seems to be bc of a lack of adequate measures to contain it, not in china at the moment but in all other parts of the world.
our politicians still hope, they can treat covid19 like a flu epidemic which is wrong.
plus, i am sure that it is possible to contract both at the same time, flu and covid19.
this means that the range of ppl who are prone to die from covid19 is larger than expected. its not just the old and sick with pre-existing illnesses, seems that even asthma or diabetes are illnesses that might cause death in combination with covid19.
