If we treated the flu like we treated coronavirus the entire planet would be canceled.

There have been between 18,000 and 46,000 flu related deaths in the US in the current flu season.

the current flu season started a couple of months ago, in 2019.
compared to covid19 thats a much longer period of time.
the infection rate of the influenza virus is 1.2-1.5 ppl.
this means that each flu infected person infects appr. 1.2-1.5 ppl.
the infection rate of covid19 seems to be between 2.4-3.x ppl.
this means the virus spreads much faster.
this seems to be bc of a lack of adequate measures to contain it, not in china at the moment but in all other parts of the world.
our politicians still hope, they can treat covid19 like a flu epidemic which is wrong.
plus, i am sure that it is possible to contract both at the same time, flu and covid19.
this means that the range of ppl who are prone to die from covid19 is larger than expected. its not just the old and sick with pre-existing illnesses, seems that even asthma or diabetes are illnesses that might cause death in combination with covid19.

"Unexplained Coronavirus Cases in Three States Raise Specter of Spread

Officials in California, Oregon and Washington State said on Friday that people had tested positive for the coronavirus without a known explanation for how they became ill."

If nothing else, during the emergency, Morrissey should get out of the habit of shaking hands with people in the audience. Who knows what bacteria, viruses, and sundry faecal matter he picks up from that. I'd love to take a swab of his hands post-concert and then grow the result in a petri dish.

@ Boris Johnson Let's pretend that one is out and about shopping or something and one touches a door or an handrail or a pint glass or something. Do you see Boris? One doesn't carry a sink on one's back does one?
