You Are The Quarry
Last week - 56,399 sold #11
This week - 26,834 sold #45

Sean O'Callaghan writes:

According to hitsdailydouble.com, You Are The Quarry dropped this week on the US charts from number 10 to number 49.

Having experienced a 53% drop in sales during it's second week of release, the website reports that a further 25,541 copies have been sold in the US.

Interestingly, billboard.com have Morrissey listed as number 1 on their music video sales chart! Obviously for the DVD content available with the album, You Are The Quarry sits in the pole position above Tori Amos, Beyonce and Linkin Park.

You can visit this sales chart here.

Morrissey - finally number 1 in the US!

  • I didn't know it was possible to buy the video without purchasing the album.

  • That is a huge drop off and now that every Moz fan has bought a disc, who's left to buy any? No Radio! No MTV! No VH-1! IT IS OVER! Just keep a copy of The Queen Is Dead to play for your kids someday when they want to hear excellence caught on tape. You can throw all this solo crap out!

  • Tell all your lovely quiffed friends to buy, buy, buy! So many of the Moz fans I know are burning his new album instead of purchasing it. I don't like the fact that this is happening, really. I'd like to see Morrissey kick some ass on the charts for once. Being in the #11 spot wasn't too shabby... Now he's where? Come on! I mean, sure, chart success is virtually irrelevant, but it would be nice to see some deserving artists get higher on those stupid things for a change...

  • Who cares how Morrissey is doing in the charts? Why is there such an emphasis on that on this site? We all love his music, that's all that matters. I could care less if he's number 1 or number 534. He's financially well-off, so he doesn't need it. We certainly don't benefit from it.

Having said that, I'm absolutely in love with YATQ. I think it ranks among the best work he's ever done.

Hi! This is my first post.
