Having glanced through the NME, they have devoted a full page to the Morrissey performance, describing it in glowing terms as a full scale rehabilitation and one of the absolute highlights of the festival weekend. "Forget Macca, forget... Glastonbury was about the return of the dour grey miserabilist, known as Morrissey" They praised "Let me kiss you" calling it devastating, puzzlingly, and "everyday is like sunday" "First of the gang" "IBEH" and a "frankly astonishing" there is a light - but the real moment of the performance was during "I Know It's Gonna Happen someday" when Morrissey went down on one knee staring up at his name in lights, "happy to be back where he belongs" There was a photo of Morrissey wearing his jacket with the caption "comeback of the year" One or two facts might be out, but this is basically what is said in the review. A relative of mine who attended Glastonbury told me "everyone was talking about Morrissey" - "a lot of people missed him because of the rain and they all wished they'd gone to see him." Once again, it looks like his fans on this site have failed to be impressed by what bowls over the rest of the world!

This doesn't follow. The songs you refer to are indeed either very good or great ones. But only a couple are from his latest album. Most are quite a bit older. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is old enough to vote. I went to see Morrissey last year and it was fantastic. He has made some wonderful records and is my favourite music artist. That said, I don't think his new album is very good.
If people get into Morrissey or the Smiths via the new album, then that's very good news and they have lots of treats in store. But I think a number of people who are Smiths and Morrissey fans find the latest album a disappointment. I know I do. Morrissey deserves a big hit with 'First of the Gang' - shame that everything else on the album pales so much beside it.
Regards,
Robert
