This is really old news, but I picked up an album by a hardcore emo/scremo band recently and one of their songs, Populace In Two, mentions Morrissey: "even if I spent 2004, listening to Morrissey in my car, I'm better off alone, than I would be in your arms". The song is from their 2004 album 'Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Body Count'.

It's kinda irrelevant, but some people like to listen to bands that have been influenced by Morrissey.

  • There is an Owen song called 'In the Morning Before Work' That has the line "I listen to my same old CDs; New Order and Morrissey, but you already know that because you used to ride with me..." I can hear the Morrissy influence there too.
