I've recently got my grubby mits on the DVD and I thought I'd let you all know whats it like. I wrote a very quick mini review on the message boards and posted some screen shots here.

Basically when you the play the main feature it begins with an interview with an american couple from California. They say how they discovered Moz in 88 and have been in love with him ever since. Then Imperfect List starts as footage of Manchester is shown throughout the whole song. This footage is extremely effective. It begins with footage of the moors close to the graves of the children killed by Hindley. The main theme then is of old Manchester (factories, terraces, strangeways) mixing with new Manchester (office blocks). The gig then begins. After the final credits of the gig a documentary on Morrisseys fans begins. This is not an extra feature on the DVD. It just comes on when you leave the main feature running. This includes footage of the Salford Lads Club and various interviews around Manchester. There are unfortunately no interviews with Morrissey or his band. The final interview, however, shows an Irish bloke hoping that Morrissey will never 'bow out' and retire. Then some old archive footage of the lads club is shown. THE END.

  • i'm really looking forward to the dvd release. However on the single "there is a light...." video it states that it is from the dvd WPTMIM..but the single promo is a mixture of move and the MEN.
I thought it was supposed to be the MEN performance on the dvd? Can you confirm this?
I was hoping that the MEN performance of there is a light would be on the dvd as it was sublime....

I can't wait to see the DVD. As expected it will be very stylish affair through out. Even now when I see the First of The Gang video (filmed at the MEN Home Coming gig?) it sends shivers down my spine: the big Moz letter, the crowd, etc. It's just so charged!

  • If there's footage of a mean looking skinheaded bloke queuing up for the toilets in the MEN Arena (very unlikely), that's me....fame, fame, fatal fame...

  • It really does get on my tits when people here moan about the sound quality of the live cd or about the cover art they don't happen to like and post things like "I Will not be buying it" and other meaningles crap. I don't really give a fuck if you buy it or not - I bet loads of these moaners download it anyway - I'm just glad that the BEST ever British artist is still releasing stuff.

  • Last night @ 9:00pm my local Comcast station (CN8) in Southern NJ showed nine songs from the DVD. Took me by surprised as I was flipping through the channels.
I even let the kids stay up and watch - we made popcorn!

I thought the highlight of the brief set was "A Rush and A Push ..." and his challenge to the stage crashers was funny as hell.

Awesome is an understatement. I cannot wait to I see the whle set.

  • Thanks for that review tomsidg. It's like an appetiser. I've been pestering 'One Little Indian' and a mutual friend of Sack's, to source the Imperfect List, and seems like it'll be featured on the DVD, along with a range of well-thought-out placemarks, photos etc to create a total atmospheric experience. Suspension mounts...

  • Hello! I sing in a rock band. I know this hs nothing to do with this site, but I am here because I love Morrissey. If anybody wants to have a look at my website, listen to our music and make any kind of critic, I would really appreciate. Thank you!!!

  • Ladies and gentlemen, these are two Moz items to ensure you do not miss out on.

Ive got them both and thankfully can say that they do not let you down. The only negative for me is that there is no backstage footage or anything like that on the DVD, even though I know there was a lot shot. One of the high points for me is Jack the ripper. I was at this gig and forgot that he sang this song so beutifully. Taking the I want you line up a couple of bars instead of taking it down, stunning.

The CD is amazing too, The Smiths songs sound great and the MOZ classics and recent tracks sound perfectly at home next to thier half brothers and sisters.

Lets pray this will not be all from our man Mozzer.

  • Just been to the shops to buy the new single. Amazing versions! Morrissey's voice is just getting BETTER. However, both tracks "TIALTNGO" and "Redondo" sound almost like studio takes - which is fine. Great single!

  • I wondered why they left out the Move performance of HSIN from the DVD. it can't be solely because they wanted us to pay $10 to have the privilege of seeing it, could it?

for anyone who actually was at Move, besides HSIN, are all the songs Morrissey did on the DVD?
