Tonight's show is cancelled due to plumbing problems at the Palladium. No word on whether they'll resked. I'm wondering if this is due to low ticket sales by any chance. This news came straight from the promoter. ---

I'm surprisingly not too put out, though I feel sorry for the gravely disappointed fans. I feel sad for Morrissey that ticket sales were so poor.
Although I am usually inclined to think that cynical people are too quick to accuse MOrrissey of deliberately offending them by falling ill and trying to cover up poor ticket sales, I think this time it is truly a case of poor ticket sales and a silly, bogus official excuse. This is almost as good as 1994's "the band were not sufficiently rehearsed to Morrissey's satisfaction".
I think LiveNation didn't want to put on a show that would lose money. I don't think it was Morrissey himself who engineered the "burst water main". But if his exposed butt crack is anything to go by, Morrissey's the man to fix it! ; p

Some people in the front said that Kristeen Young came out and said the show was canceled due to medical reasons. I didn't believe them because he sounded fine last night. A few minutes later it was confirmed by people from the venue but they didn't explain why so I and others assumed poor ticket sales. Later on, I saw one DWP worker who said it was because of the water main.
So I pretty much have three answers but I'm choosing poor ticket sales. Tuesday nights aren't usually open for everybody (I have school and my sister has work but we're going to all nights anyway
Whatever. I'll see him Friday. I just feel really bad for the people that were supposed to him tonight and can't go next Monday or Tuesday. They truly were the ones who got screwed.

I guess the night wasn't a complete bust. I bargained and got a bootleg Morrissey shirt for $5, I saw one of the actors from Superbad at Amoeba and someone that looked like Laurence Fishburn, and then got drunk at the Abbey. And my friend and I made it back to San Diego by midnight. But wow...I am really sad. Really, truly let down. I don't think it was a coincidence that these shows were being offered at half price and then they were cancelled at the last minute.
