5. The Never-Played Symphonies
6. The Youngest Was The Most Loved
7. I Just Want To See The Boy Happy

10. In The Future When All's Well
11. Friday Mourning

The cover photo is a black and white, slightly blurry shot of the back of Morrissey, at a distance. Near a park bench. Outdoor shot of some sort.

That's all I know.

  • Oh my God, if this is Really True that Morrissey has chosen to throw in NPS into this alleged compilation, then, then I am going to be the happiest person because -- because not only is NPS, in my opinion, his most beautiful, beautiful, beautiful B-side ever but it is also one that has special, special, deep illustrations connecting to a certain scenario. NPS, the lyrics, so mesmerizing, beautiful and genius is number one and shall always remain number one in my book. I know sometimes when Morrissey comes out with new songs, I have a tendency to only focus on the new ones but in the case with NPS, it's a song that has a unique meaning and I never, never, never put it away or forget about it even for a second - even when the new records have replaced the "last" record. I hope this compilation IS really true because it's all I see now as the light fades. And then also every other song on this new compilation is one thousand percent magnificent, in my opinion. I can't wait until it is in the record stores because I'm going to run out on the very first day they have it to attain it.
Thank You Morrissey, you are, were, and always shall be number one in my book. You can't ask for anything better than this but I also hope in the future when all is well, Paris shall be released officially too.

  • If true, then we're looking at songs since the Quarry comeback - since Merck was involved. Older songs are used (on the single tracklisting) as live versions only, because Merck & Moz have control over those, not the originals, which reside with RCA, Parlophone etc. As someone else pointed out above, the tracklisting represents a Greatest Hits (of sorts) since Merck has been on the scene.

As everyone else has pointed out, what happened to the 2nd new track!? Has Decca gone stingy? Hidden track, perhaps?

  • I'm gonna have to side with those saying someone pulled one over of SoLow. This cannot possibly be a real release.

If it is for real, Morrissey needs to get his head out his ass, pull the emergency break, and attempt to put together a compilation with songs and title that are worthy of anyone's notice...let alone dollars.

That's not to say there aren't some top songs on here, like "I Have Forgiven Jesus" and "Human Being". But an entirely pointless, half-assed compilation that smells of poo.

  • To think he generated all that press with his NME controversy for such a stupid "greatest hits" BS release designed only for money-making purposes and NO OTHER CONCEIVABLE REASON. HEck, you can't even blame the record company because Morrissey had this "greatest hits" album worked out while he was shopping for a label. I guess to tempt a label: "Hey, look how we'll sucker my fans and make you some extra dough!"

I had thought the worst thing about Morrissey at Sanctuary/Attack was the way Sanctuary viewed Morrissey's loyal fanbase as a mass of easy marks, as something to try and hustle and milk every penny from with various schemes to sell each Morrissey fan the same songs over and over again. Obscene is my opinion of it. Merck was the top dog behind all that, no? And Merck continues on, still viewing fans of Morrissey's music as suckers.

And Morrissey must agree with him, or why is he going along with it?

  • I like those songs - some of them are among my favorites. But what's the point of a compilation like that? DECCA - Don't release anything with that track listing. It's pointless!

This is especially disappointing given many fans' hope for a Smiths box set or remasters. How about a remastered Kill Uncle with b-sides and live tracks? How about the entire Wolverhampton gig? How about a singles/b-sides compilation that dates from the end of the last singles box set? How about a remastered Your Arsenal?

They're made for casual listerners, the uninitiated, etc.

In your eyes, a compilation should be composed of 30% new unreleased songs, 30% fanatic-favorites like "Nobody Loves Us," 30% remastered B-sides, and 10% live tracks of Morrissey singing in the shower.

  • Merck, I would like to say thank you for clarifying what had transpired here. It is very very lovely that Morrissey has somebody like you on his side, and I haven’t had the opportunity to tell you this until now because, because I have been wrapped up in so many other Morrissey connected scenarios as well as my own controversies. It’s nice to see how you protect him and look after him all of the time. It is very very admirable. Equally as important, thank you again for answering the question.
I on the other hand have the misfortune of having a thorn in my side, dull and depressing, listless assistant/”friend” who does nothing but dig his heels in the dirt and provoke constant ping pong games in my life. Initially I said to this person when he read it to me, “I can’t believe this because it is not on True To You and is also from an anonymous writer”. But of course, this thorn in my side other person convinced me that I was probably wrong because of his “digging his heels in” style, ... and so I fell into the “power of suggestion psychology” that he emblazoned in me. I should have just listened to my initial intuitive feeling.

Anyways, enough about my situation -- I would just like to thank you and say once again that I think it is very admirable of you to protect Morrissey in this scenario as well as all of the other situations you have been protecting him in, since you have become his manager.

    Thank You again

    God Bless You
