  • Zavvi(formely virgin megastores) in Sheffield didn't have any of the CD format.

HMV had sold out and was not getting any more in

These are the only suppliers in the technically the forth biggest city in England.

  • how ace is the vinyl look of the cd.
I don't know what the general consensus is about the song, but whilst it does have a 'by-numbers' feel at first, given one listen, it's in your head all day. I was a bit miffed not to have a Moz special (aka new b-side) as I don't think the translation from live to record works well for Morrissey's voice (to be fair, it doesn't work well for many artists). However, I remembered that the guy has been touring himself (quite literally) hoarse for the last couple of years, thus it's a bit of a feat that he's managed to write enough tracks for an album, let alone start penning b-sides like Sweetie Pie or The Slum Mums. Still, a cover in the vein of Human Being would have been welcome.
Nonetheless, I like it. And it was flying off the shelves in my local HMV.

    Thank you but no....
  • Does anyone know of any online retailer selling MP3s of the two vinyl-only b-sides? I've ordered the 2 x 7" and 1 x CD pack from recordstore.co.uk, but ideally I'd like *all* the b-sides on my iPod, but iTunes (in NZ at least) only has the a-side, as does 7digital.

(Or, for that matter, has anyone done a decent rip of the 7"s)

  • got mine today, quality inner sleeve's on the 7"s, love the decca label, its like the old 60's 7"s, and the cd done in vinyl style is ace, disappointed with live b sides, but hey the a side is my fav mozz song for sometime, the post that is struggling to get hold of them, i used to go into manchester to get mozz releases, but hmv and the old virgin would be the same, hardly any in stock and not getting anymore, look online, hmv.com or i use recordstore, they do all 3 formats for a fiver, they've always been spot on for me.

  • If Morrissey was attempting to 'fraudulently' use images of his younger days to sell his new single, he'd be slightly inept to release a video comprised entirely of recent concert footage. Wouldn't he?

He is now his own icon, as his heroes were to him in his youth. He looks back on his achievements and the photographic evidence with pleasure and pride. Why not flaunt it?

At Doncaster he came on with an LP sized photo covering his face and I did think, mmn: Is this a Dorian Gray moment/statement? But I really can't see him fudging the growing older (dis)gracefully issue.

I love all these images. Especially the "where's my Bic Razor" theme.

I just wish he'd stop milking his man mammaries at the end of the show. It's a disturbing image to leave The Audience with. We may never get to see him appear live, in person. The stuff of nightmares.

Never mind his bare arse, if he shows his lactation fixation photos on the shelves of HMV there'll be a riot.

  • Spend a fortune getting tickets for the Roundhouse.

Wish Morrissey a 'get well soon!' and look forward to promised rescheduling.

Discover Morrissey can't be arsed to reschedule.

Realise Morrissey has now become what he himself proclaimed to detest: a fame hungry, money grasping, selfish person, with dubious ethics.

Is that how people grow up?

  • So many people are slagging this single off. I have to admit, at first i wasn't 100%, although i thought it was ok, but listening to the 7", the production is brilliant, far better than Ringleaders, and the song really grows and grows on you. It's not his best ever single, fair enough, but SO much better than any of the Ringleaders singles, and also a fair few other Mozzer singles i could mention. I hope it's a hit, but as the shops don't seem to be stocking it around here...it's not looking too promising. Have DECCA f***ed up already? Moz will be grinding his teeth!

  • Went to my local in Bromley. They didn't have it...."Maybe next monday" was the reply from the poorly paid emo girl. I should think that a big label like Decca/Polydor wouldn't let this happen? But then again, it's the downloads that count these days....

  • Just checked UK iTunes and they only have the studio version and a live version of "That's How People Grow Up" from Hollywood Bowl. So far no sign of the other live B-sides....

  • Well, I found at least 30 copies of the CD, 20 copies of one 7" single and around 10 of the 2nd 7" single earlier today at a well known store here in a well known city in the UK. HMV also had stock of the single and the cd-rom.

I have to say how well put together this product is. It's amazing. The quality is stunning. The 7" single is just lovely. When you open the CD_ROM, the media itself looks like a DECCA hit from yesteryear. Amazing. It's a classic.

Happy charting - whatever and wherever it ends up - it's still a TOP QUALITY PRODUCT from start to finish, on and off the plastic.

  • What a swiz! The now obligatory shit b side rears its ugly, lazy head once again.

Do you remember when the Smiths and early Morrissey B sides where just as anticipated as the A side?

I've just received a pleading email "please buy all formats" kind of thing, so that Morrissey can achieve a chart position. Fuck off! Provide me with something worth buying you slackarse.

Morrissey, if a barrel is being scrapped, I'm afraid soon we'll find you at the bottom of it?

Stop treating your fans like cash cows. You clearly still have some good songs - desist with the insulting live takes.

Sadly, Morrissey you are beginning to resemble the very "artiste" you purport to despise.

I think I'll always be a fan but my quality control button has high expectations.

You're now selling your arse, why not? You've sold us everything else. Have a bit of dignity in your career(not the arse photo - I'm not bothered about that), and attempt to develop a greater respect for YOUR fans.
