Better Than The Real Thing? - Bernadette McNulty, The Telegraph, 18 Dec 2008

"Forget Blur or The Smiths reforming – fan sites and tribute bands can mend the heartache of a broken band"

"For some people, it was the sound of hell freezing over, but for the fans, it was literally, music to their ears. First 90s Brit Pop darlings Blur announced that after an eight year hiatus they would be reforming. Then 80s indie icons The Smiths were said to be thinking about burying their sizeable hatchets."

The article goes on to reflect on band reunions and the tribute scene and features The Smiths Indeed.

Just to redress the balance ... I can't wait to see Blur this year!

Regarding your points, in reverse order:

I like Think Tank, it was a great album.

It's true, Oasis have kept going, though only the brothers are still left from the original band ... but that's ok in this case as the band is better now ( I am going to see them in a couple of weeks).

How can a Blur reunion be premature? People have waited long enough ... it will make cash but in their case I really don't think that was the incentive.

Dave and Alex are both trained pilots so why shouldn't they have planes if it's a hobby and they have the money. What do you spend your money on?

What's wrong with living on a farm? It's a locational choice and let's face it Liam living in a plush Hampstead villa is not really any different, is it? Where would you live if you came into the money? Besides, where does Moz live?

Damon Albarn doesn't need to worry about his image as he is far too busy.

I do like the song "Boxers" though. It's one of my favourites, so if you could channel your energies into getting Moz to play that on the next tour, that would be a fine thing :)
