Jo O Keefe - true-to-you.net 24 August 2010 It is with great sadness and regret that the death of Jo O Keefe has been announced this week. Jo's onscreen contribution to The Smiths South Bank Show documentary (1987) was greatly appreciated by The Smiths, and Jo's years of vocational loyalty towards The Smiths will never be forgotten by Morrissey. Jo went on to write for the British television programs EastEnders and Coronation Street. It is understood that Jo, who was 41, has died from an asthma attack.

How sad am I. (Score:0)
I have often thought about her over the years and wondered if she frequented these boards or indeed stayed a fan, how could she not.
Very, very sorry and sad to hear of her passing at such an early age.

My "Beautiful Belfast Boy" Seán Murray interviewed Liverpool's Shaun Duggan(of then Norris Green)for the student magazine - SHOUT, i was present at the interview & i remember Shaun wearing too much make up - God i was so naive!! It was around about the time of Shaun's 1st play & I remember going to see it - at the Bluecoat? We were on the guest list - of course! Somewhere in my memory bank, I have photos of Shaun & Jo with Morrissey. Shaun D must have sent them to my Seán.
Both Jo & Shaun (as individuals) went on to be successful TV screen writers - no surprise there! We often commented on it as we watched episodes of Corrie or Eastenders!!Even though we were the real writing talent! And some.......
I was shocked & saddened to read of Jo O Keefe's untimely death but i understand that it was her time & she had to go.
You just accecpt it eventually As i have done with my Dearest Love Seán.
Peace & Love to Jo O Keefe and those who have lived and achieved much.
