Morrissey-solo post-concert gatherings?
posted by davidt on Thursday June 27 2002, @08:15AM

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for post-concert gatherings during this upcoming tour, or would that be asking for trouble? Perhaps some of you in the area know of a good place to hang out near the venue.

I have set up in the tour section a place for pre-show comments for this or any other topic related to the specific upcoming show. If a place is decided on let me know the details and I can post it in a separate announcement.

I do not think that would be a good idea. With all the fights in the chatroom, why would we want those who secretly hate and say very bad things to meet up and pretend they like everyone? I won't name any names but we know who I am especially talking about. The one person who gets trashed all the time. She cannot even go into the chatroom without someone trashing her. Imagine what the chatroom is going to be like after certain people meet up?

I agree with you on that one, however, I think that if people were to meet up face to face, then maybe things would change. It's so easy to hide behind a computer and be snide, but if people were to meet up somewhere, I think perhaps they might have a little more respect for each other. Maybe that's too idealistic a thought, but psychologically speaking, they may think twice about what they say through normal contact.

Okay, I know I'm REALLY pushing it here, but I would LOVE to see this happen at the House of Blues Foundation room.

I myself have not been to the foundation room as it is a "members only" type thing - so part of my eagerness to go is my own curosity.

I know that during the 1999 Oye Esteban Tour - after the last Las Vegas show and end of the tour (for 1999 at least) Morrissey had a party for his roadies and Sack up there. I talked to one of the Sack guys afterwards and he said that the foundataion room is actually a series of different rooms and that they had been in one of the nicest rooms there.

                        I am thinking that:

                        A. Morrissey will probably have another party there.

                        B. Sounds like a classy place and wouldn't it be great to have a party in the room next to where Moz is having his party?

Well this is just a suggestion so take it, or leave it. More info on the foundation room is at the house of blues site http://www.hob.com
