Jacko gets plastered in Barnes and Noble. Plus: Bizarre Gordon, spokesman for Pentonville lags and scourge of Tim Jonze

...In other Tough Gordon news, he's squaring up to our friend and man about town Tim Jonze. Relaying a yawnsome tale about how Russell Brand can't believe his luck at being flown to LA to make an appearance in Morrissey's next vid (you can see where this is going), Gordon remarks that Russell's bound to have a great time: "At least you won't c*** it up like the numbskull from the NME."

I was surprised when I watched the Season Finale of Extras on HBO on demand to find that maybe halfway thru the episode a good portion of "please please let me get what I want" was used. That was the first time in all the episodes I recall a song being used in a segment on the show.

In the US, the feature-length "Extras: Extra Special Series Finale" aired this past Sunday 12/16, and The Smiths' classic "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" was featured in its entirety during a key scene. Nice to hear it in one of my favorite shows!

The Smiths will be featured on VH1 Classic (in America) "7 Ages of Rock" documentary. Series #7 is about the British Indie Scene. Judging by the preview, Johnny Marr will be interviewed, and the Smiths will be heavily featured along with Oasis
and Blur.

Should be a good show. See the preview here.

74. Johnny Marr. The former Smiths guitarist re-entered the spotlight as a member of Modest Mouse, and his unmistakable sound can be heard all over We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Now, if only we could get Marr's band to open for Morrissey, and then Andy Rourke could be waiting in the wings... see where I'm going with this?
