Check out Andy's haircut and glasses. It's strange how much he's changed as far as appearance goes -- he looks a lot like Liam Gallagher here. Johnny looks a lot different, too. Older. I was just glad to see recent pictures of them.

Thanks Stephen B. for letting us see the wonderful stills from the program. One thing that really puzzles me is the shot (on page 4) of what looks like a bit from the "Stop Me..." video with the words "Narrator / Marc Almond" (no surprise here) and "Title Music / Wham!" Now what the hell was that about? Did the program actually use "Wham" for the title music? Naw, it has to be a joke. My only mistake is that I'm hoping.

wahey! that's my writing! seriously - abouove that all it says "april loves the smiths forever". i wrote all of that on my first visit to manchester back in june of 1997...ask my friend adam - he was there when i wrote all of it and he called me the night the documentary was on because he freaked out when he saw it. so yeah, i made it into a smith documentary (sort of.) cool. (:-)

In response to Melinda Hsu's comment, unfortunately George and Andrew of WHAM! did author the title track, "Young Guns Go For It". A relitively bad song for WHAM!, but I guess there's no need to delve into a quality analysis of WHAM! music here. However, I will say that there is a sad irony in the use of such a song for a program detailing the rise and fall of a band steadfastly dedicated to derailing that very style of music. Plus, I would have thought "Bad Boys" was the obvious choice.

I only wish that a devoted Morrissey fan like myself had the opportunity to view a program on BBC2. I wonder if I had a Sattelite dish, things might start coming in a little clearer for me. Wake me up before you go go, don't leave me hanging around like a yo-yo.

Thanks, Sam Bishop, for your clear answer. Now it makes sense to me. Yes, it is a sad irony that Wham's music was used for a show about the Smiths. Though it was sad, well I just had to laugh. Your suggestion of "Bad Boys" as a more suitable theme was delicious as well!

was the special only a half hour long? what a shame, the special couldve easily been an hour long with the wealth of smiths material/stories.
