From Richard Osborn:

One that I've been looking out for for a long time - The Greatest Hits of ... The Smiths - on VH1 at 6pm BST, Tuesday 13th July.

Additionally, this is a half hour program, according to Tamsyn Rowe.

absolute bollocks! US VH-1 needs to get its head out its ass and play some good music programs...for a change. i mean really...who wants to watch a 'behind the music' program about leif garrett or milli vanilli three times in a month?!

I know we attempted in vain to get Morrissey
played on MTV a few months back. Can anyone(David?)
find out who we can e-mail at VH-1 to try
and get this aired in the States? Maybe its worth
a try?

Hey, good idea! By the way... nice to see a fellow Mozzer that lives in Florida. I'm sure you understand how bad the music and quite frankly, the whole cultural scene is down here. Oh, and FYI, I was blasting The Queen Is Dead out my car window today and I got lots of funny looks from passersby.

Florida radio does bite (Usually)
But I remember a time growing up in Cocoa beach
where I would go surfing every morning and then
get out drive home and actually listen to such
bands as The Smiths (on the RADIO!!). I realise there must be change but why change the good things??? Ha

Or does he even have any?

This show was pretty cool actually, at first it looked as if it was gonna be a disaster - you saw the title at the start of Panic just as in The Complete Picture video - how lame! I saw that happen with a Bowie vid they played too, lifted straight from the Singles Video Collection.. anyway, "rareities" they showed that wasn't on The Complete Picture - the bicycle non-Derek Jarman version of There Is A Light(same as Stop me if you think..) and non-TOPT versions of Sheila and What Difference. I wonder what's gonna be on this new DVD, there were several things missing from the innacurately titled Complete Picture - no TOPT of William.. where Moz ripped his shirt off with Marry Me painted on his chest - a classic, the regular video for Boy With The Thorn, I think some songs have more than one TOPT performance, it's prolly asking too much to have every alternate take but we need it!
