From smilingontim:
  • In the October 13th edition of The Sun (Britain's biggest selling daily newspaper) there is a snippet of information on Morrissey's performance at Coachella. This is from Dominic Mohan's bizarre which modestly describes itself as the world's No.1 showbiz column...

"Poor old Morrissey. The dreary singer tried a comeback at a California pop festival but it was so hot the crowds stayed in tents for shade."

Any excuse to write more lies springs to mind. All complaints and demands for apologies to: [email protected].

  • The entertainment magazine "Heat" dated 30 Sept-6 Oct has a picture of Morrissey on it's new tours announced page. The UK dates are printed along with the following preview.

"The king of knock-knock jokes himself will end an unusually strident world tour with his first UK shows in two years. There's every reason to expect the former Smiths frontman to preview material from his new album, which may yet surface this side of the millennium. His opera-centric choice of venues would suggest that there is a flamboyant stage show afoot. Fasten your corset and sing along. (3 out of 5 stars).

  • The November issue of Uncut has a tour ad. This is nearly the same one that appeared in Q but it is about half the size.

Monthly mag Mojo has got a whole page Moz tour ad, for the first time with the new image and stuff, not the one from Southpaw Grammar

I sent my angry letter to the Sun with first hand accounts of the crowd in Coachella. How about you?

Dont bother writing to the Sun! All their articles are like this. They write their stories to attract controversy. Just ignore it.

MORRISSEY was wonderful at coachella and there is nothing they can do about it. those who were there know this to be true.

This reporter should not be refered to as a reporter, cause he has his information all wrong. More like a gossip column. But i was there personally and first of all the majority of Moz's show was done at dust or night time. Plus i can stand witness that Moz's show attrached the most crowd there. All this guy has to do is read reviews of the coachella festival. As far as a comeback...i'm not sure he ever left in my heart. This jake ass of a reporter needs to be fired for typing out his ass and complete nonsense...tip to the guy: check your sources you idiot

Maybe the reporter had Morrissey mistaken for the drum and bass dj who kept on going "yo! yo! yo! Coachella in da house! Coachella in da house! Rude boy who threw the water bottle at me, rude boy!"

That YO YO we at coachella! Dj was soo annoying! But anyways... How could they all be in the tents when the only reason people actually came to coachella was for Morrissey? At least 80% of them anyway.. Oh well I cant wait for Morrisseys new album..even if it did take him a long time!

Suzanne...great comment. i must agree that guy was getting old quick. the only good part of his performance is him his mircrophone got disconnected. so i leave you with my version of "yo yo yo party people" (of course in that english accent)

It's surprising to read Dominic's dig at Morrissey as about 6 months ago he included The Smiths in the vote for best British Indie Band of all time (or something along those lines.) Which I thought was very impressive for The Sun.

just remember Mohan is the champion of arch pantomime clown Robbie Williams.

The guy doesn't know what class is and should be best ignored.

Barrowlands (Dec 5th) will be the music highlight of the year
