What do Moz fans think about 'Notre Dame'?

I truly don't think it was arson, at all. Here's a very good report outlining the many, many failings surrounding the safety of the renovation work that was taking place at the time. For Morrissey to write a song insinuating that it was arson/terrorism is, for me, deeply depressing. I'm all...

Fretsore Records / YouTube: Dana Gillespie - Spent The Day In Bed (Official video)

I remember buying a couple of very serious books about celibacy in the mid 80s, because Morrissey kept mentioning it in interviews. It seemed like such an interesting lifestyle choice! (And absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I was a hideous, acne-ridden teenager...)

Fretsore Records / YouTube: Dana Gillespie - Spent The Day In Bed (Official video)

Agree, the focus on the "news" part just makes the song much more cringe than it needs to be. (But, as per her radio interview, that's the part of the lyrics that resonated with her, so she's done it very deliberately.

Morrissey Central "DANA GILLESPIE" (March 26, 2024)

It's a good version, I like it! (Although, sweet that Dana in her interview says she likes it because of the whole "stop watching the news" line, what with the world being so depressing these days - but that's clearly not what Morrissey meant, when he wrote the song... Honestly not trying to...

The Guardian: "Who’s bad? From Michael Jackson to David Bowie, why are some stars uncancellable" by Tim Jonze - tiny Moz mention (April 1, 2024)

OK. You don't really make much sense any more, so I'll put you back on ignore. Keep going after Simon Wratten on Twitter, though: he's the real enemy.

The Guardian: "Who’s bad? From Michael Jackson to David Bowie, why are some stars uncancellable" by Tim Jonze - tiny Moz mention (April 1, 2024)

Yes, you're right, that was the beginning of it, really. Just over 4 months after the Manchester Arena bombing, which completely frazzled his (already peculiar) mind.

The Guardian: "Who’s bad? From Michael Jackson to David Bowie, why are some stars uncancellable" by Tim Jonze - tiny Moz mention (April 1, 2024)

So your hypothesis here is that Morrissey was, in June 2018, very well informed about AMW and her party ("she believes in British heritage, freedom of speech, and she wants everyone in the UK to live under the same law"), but knew almost nothing about Robinson at that point? Hmmm. You carry on...

The Guardian: "Who’s bad? From Michael Jackson to David Bowie, why are some stars uncancellable" by Tim Jonze - tiny Moz mention (April 1, 2024)

Well, because by not saying something like "I mean, look at the shocking treatment of Tommy Robinson...I disagree with some of his views and his propensity for thuggish violence, but he should be allowed to stand up for his views" - then Morrissey leaves himself open to all journalists, for the...

The Guardian: "Who’s bad? From Michael Jackson to David Bowie, why are some stars uncancellable" by Tim Jonze - tiny Moz mention (April 1, 2024)

It was in his June 2018 interview with Dodwell, specifically this part here: "Anne Marie Waters seeks open discussion about all aspects of modern Britain, whereas other parties will not allow diverse opinion. She is like a humane version of Thatcher ... if such a concept could be. She is...

    Strange/unexpected Moz references?

Dearie me, a truly terrible article in The Guardian by Tim Jonze, attempting to figure out why some rock and pop stars get cancelled and others seemingly don't. Mentions for Bowie (mostly), Michael Jackson, Ike Turner, Chris Brown, R Kelly and - of course, this being Jonze and The Guardian -...

The Sunday Times: "Freaks Out!" by Luke Haines review by Will Hodgkinson - Morrissey mention (March 31, 2024)

"a permanent act of career sabotage" is a pretty good way of putting it, sadly. (The number of times when I think he's doing this deliberately, that deep down he wants to be a complete outsider...)

Morrissey Central "AND WHEN YOU’RE DANCING AND LAUGHING AND FINALLY LIVING…" (March 29, 2024)

Would rather kill myself than go and see any covers band, but always good to be reminded (whether by Morrissey himself, or SER, or DonnieNuts, or the dark forces of evil who control Central without Morrissey realising it) of my favourite lyric in all of popular music: And when you're dancing...

Exactly. Nothing more, nothing less. (Small possibility of Johnny coming out to "guest" on one Suede song, maybe...)

    It’s not about politics

Well then, with all due respect, and as you're someone who works with words, perhaps you could have made your tweet a little clearer? You know, something like "I would have quite like to have met Worms from Morrissey Solo. He fought against the tsunami of bullshit directed at M by the press...
