mostly titles with rough demoos, just a few riffs/melody of a song

They're not demos..

The BG in the first one means "background," so it was background music for..the Today Show? (Why/When would they play the Smiths? )

And yes, the second one is Zooey Deschanel singing over a Smiths' song in the movie '500 Days of Summer.'
