Goddard story [Alain/Boz]

celibate

Forever Ill
but the reason Alain is not in the band because of rivaly, as written
in Goddards book, you find an interesting story in Cobrin, Spencer

so Alain couldn't handle the stress about fav. songwriting, Boz got jealous
when Whyte wrote 3/4 songs on Vauxhall

Spencer leaving was just his choice, he was fed up about, when learned
about Mike Joyce did to him, swirled around with contracts about royalties,
I guess Gary had also enough of being send out, brought up, and called
again for a session

again, read all about it, great stuff in there

so I finally know what's the deal with Alain, and how Morrissey controlls
everything, because he must, but he could've been more personal

Which book is all this in?

Sorry, I can't believe what you've said...
I don't mean that you a liar, but think that's book is wrong.

But last mouth (I don't remember exactly) Boz sent a messenge to Alain and it said: "I know it's later but I was thing about you"....

is anyone else confused with these posts?

Just this..

I wrote uncorrectly...
Sorry...
don't you make mistakes when you're writting?

I've found this conversation between them:
Boz:
I know it's bit late, but I was thinking of ya! cheers Boz
Alain:
Cheers Boz! I hope that you are well mate. Alain

It happened july 5 and 6.

Fabricate..I've never thought that I'd read an absurd like that..

I might be wrong but Alain's birthday is on July 3rd.

Most likely BOZ was referring to the birthday wishes  being posted late.

Which book is all this in?

what book is just released, Mozipedia by Simon Goddard

lots of tension and rivalry behind the scenes acording to Corbrin,Spencer

I was confused as all of ya, cause I thought the 2 seems to get well together

Goddard is not some NME/sun Dickhead writer, he loves The Smiths and
Morrissey's work but also more bands

well I dunno what to thinkof it, but it comes from the mouth of someone who was there, maybe it's backstabbing, but that's not Goddard's style only
go for the dirrty details

as I said it's a great book, buy it damnit:mad:

Do you believe that most bands don't have rivalry and are all sweetness and light then?

I'm sure Alain and Boz do feel some rivalry sometimes, but that doesn't mean they aren't friends and don't get on generally. They've many years of association to prove it.

The story I've heard most often is the reason Spencer left is because it was him who couldn't get on with the rest of the band. It's natural that he might try and place the blame for that on the rest of the band and he might genuinely see it that way but it doesn't make it true.

As far as Morrissey getting the band to sign contracts isn't that just him sensibly learning from his mistakes and trying to make sure everyone knows where they stand. Isn't that what Joyce and Rourke argued they wanted in The Smiths?

I assume you mean 3/4 of Quarry, not Vauxhall, which was almost evenly split (and the indisputable apex of Boz' songwriting with Moz).

I've always wondered how Boz has managed to stay on so long. Yes, being the musical director of Morrissey is an esteemed position, but when many value Alain over him even after Alain is gone, coupled of course with Morrissey's understandably tenuous demands, it says something that Boz has been able to remain, "the longest surviving cast member." :)
But I do really think Boz is a better guitarist than Moz lets him be -- all one has to do is listen to the Polecats to know that. While I understand Morrissey is pretty much done with rockabilly (other than playing his older material live), I've often wondered how Morrissey has chosen which instrumentals Boz hands to him to use as songs. As a musician, myself, I can vouch for saying that it is very possible for one to come up with an instrumental that wouldn’t make a good song with lyrics. And speaking for an experienced musician like Boz, there’s no doubt of this. I guess Moz just uses his best judgment..But what does this judgment ensue exactly? What do you think makes Moz turn down an instrumental?
