How much would you pay if Morrissey did a "Meet 'n' Greet" pre gigs?

Geoffrey Ingram

I don't go in for sensational confessions!
Just bare with me for a moment before diving in..... I know he wouldn't ever do such a thing, but I was in a casino in Vegas today and there was an advert for a Sammy Hagar concert coming up.
General admission was $150 and "meet n greet" was $650 including the GA ticket - so $500 to meet him for 3 seconds and a quick selfie.
So just posing the question that IF (and yes I know he wouldn't) this was on offer at a Morrissey gig, would you pay $500 for the pleasure?
I wouldn't.

People might not admit to it on here, but those $500 tickets would genuinely sell out in about 5 minutes! 😊

i would but then im bad with money

I wouldn’t pay that kind of money for anyone. I would feel like a john. It would feel soulless.

The passing of time, and some of what has gone in more recent times, I’m slightly (only slightly) surprised that he hasn’t.
Would I pay it? Probably as a one off. **probably
I’d be more pleased to see a stronger merch table. I’m still arguing with myself now after buying the CS record player and carting it off tot the airport with me. It’s still boxed. Out of sight. But 😍😍😍

God no, anything like that just sounds horrendous because the social dynamic would feel so skewed. (But fair play to anyone who's into that kind of thing...)

If he signed something you’d get half the value back

I don't want any gropin' (f)or selfies. Would I get a reduction then?

my neice payed about £600 for a meet n greet with lady gaga and she got a lot longer than she thought she would, had a rare old chat.

I probably would be tempted, but I would rather have a chat with him over a pint of Guinness. They I could ask him all those questions I've always wanted to, like why have all of his latest album covers been completely embarrassing dog shite.

A California Son record player!! Is there a picture of one of these somewhere? 👍

Why would Morrissey never do a VIP meet & greet?

I feel incredibly awkward at these things the couple times friends have talked me into it, & I'm glad to hear others don't like them. It feels really strange to meet famous people in those settings whether a convention sort of thing or a VIP pre show. One time I went to a luncheon with a roomful of people and the Star hosting it and that was more doable for me. There was a mini auction, a Q&A, and the proceeds went to a charity of the Star's choosing. Then again, I would likely not walk up to a famous person on the street. I like to respect people's privacy. I may have taken the privacy a bit too far, but that's what has felt right in the past.

Some new merch ideas:

A t-shirt reading "I paid $500 to meet Morrissey and all I got was this lousy shirt"

of course with the text imposed over a picture of him leaning into the microphone.

Think he did do something similar.

Didn’t the fan shown in the (BBC?) Morrissey documentary
win a meet and greet with him?

Or a picture of him with a $500 bill hanging out of his mouth, while winking.
