Why is he appropriating the moving image of James Baldwin? Heresy. He has nothing to do with Black cultures and should immediately cease and desist from the gratuitous use of such revered iconography to try to rev up his scrawny ass pasty old white man persona.

Some interesting archaeology digs into the burial mpund of the radical arts collective known as 'The Smiths Family"...but why is he still karaoke hoke-cokey shadow appropriating those songs? Isnt it time he actually became Morrissey-Solo?
At least he's finally dropped those hoary old chestnuts such as HSIN and the execrable MIM. Hopefully...

Some amusing comments.

Are you seriously saying that a white person can’t choose to show footage of a black person whom they admire?

Depression.

He's brave as hell though. I don't know anyone who would be able to get back on stage after the things he's had said about him.
You think he is medicated with antidepressants?

When the White Person in question is somebody with a history of arrogantly and insouciantly denigrating Black art forms, insults for which they have never expressed appropriate contrition, then the answer is affirmative.

Morrissey is a magpie, a troll and a clown. What next? He discovers James Brown?

And, of course, suddenly his delusional 'fans' express a profoundly erudite appreciation of James Baldwin, like the clockwork dolls they are.

If Britney dies, Morrissey will be crawling all over her corpse. He is a ghoul. A singing cultural vampire with a beguiling serpent voice, a moderately talented wordsmith, albeit with a long list of plagiarist crimes. A money 💰grabbing fraud with a soul of plasticine. Artifice, not Art. But...amusing to watch as he faces up to his failure to achieve the global dominion he craved like every other C List failure who faked rebellion for the dollars and pounds.

Che Guevara? Cue his discovery of Cuba. A tax-minimising misanthrope appropriating the iconography of a socialist firebrand? It's all a bit Cutizen Smith Student Union Bar 1981, isn't it?

smfh * 😆

Hugh if you saw clapton in 1973 that would make you about 75 yrs old. those fuddy duddy words you use like insousciantly been out of style for 50 yrs :hammer:

He opened with HSIN? The following night, sir.
But you’re right. Some amusing comments 🤣
I can only cope with one thread per sitting.

Still trading on the aura of The Smiths radical art collective he was blessed to be 25% of. Pathetic. Morrissey? Solo?...my arse'n'all...he's a karaoke 🎤tribute to somebody he used to be.....

I just find it irritating when people who are likely activists start hijacking his name.

I don't see why he should die on someone else's hill.
The world is about people, not politics.

This is a case of, "Most people keep their brains between their legs."

Leave the Moz critics alone and they will die from lack of interest. They exist to stir up the fans only. Don't get stirred up. Moz continues to be Moz and we continue to be fans no matter what any political reference may say. No one has to talk politics. It's all about issues involving people's pain and what we can do creatively, mindfully and in community.

No - there are activists using his name to further their own political brand by pretending he endorses it.

That damages his reputation, leads to bad press & even more industry isolation.

It's 'fans' not 'critics' doing this.

One hint of 'aw, shucks, what's wrong with Morrissey believing in Jewish space lasers' & it's here we go again. 🙄🙄🙄

James Baldwin is a gay icon,so its easy to see why Morrissey feels affinity and is justified in appropriating his image. The fact that he happens to be black is incidental, and has little bearing on anything.

has a bootleg of this, or other, residency night been produced? Interested to hear Alains parts on new songs as well as his. the cell footage quality ranges so, wish a board recording would pop up🤞
