lower-case morrissey by Katherine Shook

Katherine writes:

Because I am still hurt by him, I suppose. And I can't seem to logic my way out of that hurt. You know, loving Morrissey is complicated.

lower-case morrissey by Katherine Shook

unfiltered, my thoughts on current...

Morrissey.

Where does one begin when talking about this outwardly mythical creature?

By shattering the myth, I think.

I’ve decided homosexuality is wrong, anything other than Halal slaughter is wrong, Christianity is terrible and Morrissey is evil for trying to say different. Disagree and you deserve blowing up, how dare you question Islam, in England of all places. So get down the local Mosque and learn the f***ing ropes, like a sweet little fool.

okay, i just read the article. is english her second language? goddamn, that is some shitty writing. Katherine! yoohoo! Katherine! hello! i can edit it for you if you like, but you really should have come to me first before posting it on the net!
for starters:
* after 'forthright' should have come a colon, not a dash.
*I dont understand this sentence: And yes, that includes those who beg for despise. (what does that even mean??)
*and what's with all the short, choppy sentences?
*and in this sentence: Our history and present are littered with people who were/are bad at being a decent human. you need to sort out whether you're talking about "people" (plural) or "a human" (singular). people are not a human. they are humans, dig?
*nobody cares about your father.
*the paragraph that begins "I ask almost daily" makes you sound like a basket case. you SERIOUSLY need to get your shit together. I bet you struggle daily with following your heart too, don't you? yeah, thought so.
*I have no idea what this sentence means either: I could “should” on these folks, counting Morrissey…
*glitchy on the landing
: huh?!?! is that a saying?!?!
*the paragraph that begins "Morrissey was a beautiful man"... is so overdramatic and poorly written and soppy I just f***ing cringe in embarrassment for you
*and as for this: I’ve made mistakes too and will continue to do so. But I don’t have time for stupid, avoidable indiscretions, and I certainly don’t have time for abuses. Disregard for another person’s rights or worth is UNACCEPTABLE. whooooooa, profound, baby! expect that nobel prize in the mail!
*That’s true, but when our mess escapes our bodies and blobs onto others, we have created the potential for an absorbing slime situation, and something must be done. oh is that how it works huh? it blobs onto others and absorbs slime situation, does it? uh huh. i see. very good. is this article a f***ing joke?!
*I will always leave room for evolution and change, which allows us both to be open to reconciliation. im sure Morrissey is VERY interested in this proposal. he'll be calling you!

it's so odd to me when people think of Morrissey as mythical. iconic, yes. but I've never really thought of him as having this mythical status. now david bowie is mythical to me. there's something about david bowie that i will never quite be able to wrap my head around. but Morrissey is like just this dear old, if elusive, friend. I don't hold him up to any rigid set of standards. I just accept him for who he is because i love him. I have affection for him, not awe. and the thing about Morrissey is that he's doing what he's doing, he's going where he's going. you cant place conditions on him. he's been like that from the outset. he's not the kind of person you can pin all your expectations on, so if you do, and then afterwards feel some need to shatter them, that's your own damn fault, and probably you're a basket case anyway.

Reading this, my first thought was - there was probably a time when these sentiments would have completely resonated with me and meant something. Maybe I've just lost interest or I'm 'over' that kind of fan worship, but I can't bring myself to care anymore about "who Morrissey is" and what's going on in his head. The old music still means to the world to me but it's not the same thing. I mean, what the hell is this?

"Then, his external beauty disappeared in the gloom of vanity, and that beauty was further reduced when his core, guttural rot could no longer be contained by his thin, withering skin."

Melodramatic claptrap from somebody who just cares far too much about the mental machinations of an 80s pop star. Maybe that's how the casual fans have always seen Solo-ers, as well.

I thought you were Morrissey? Can’t imagine how scary Morrissey is towards his enemies :p

I thought suspicion in that area was directed towards 'Mr Reynolds', way back when.

Well, yes, but have you seen the horseshit that Dodwell has been coming up with to defend her paymaster? It's at best equal and at worst McGonagall quality encomium.

Oh yeah, but she's another one who just gives this stuff too much significance. Some distance and time away from it is a good thing. I have seen Moz (and Johnny) "super-fans" and they are unhinged and scary as f***.

"I will always leave room for evolution and change, which allows us both to be open to reconciliation. I’m heartbroken over your stance. That’s what it boils down to. Disappointment. I have been hurt by you. "

bizarre snowflake wants to reconcile with Moz who doesnt know her from a door knob.

Moz to crazy snowflake::moneybag::moneybag::moneybag::moneybag:

Bye.

:lbf:

also this paragraph:

'I’ll keep the songs that are mine and play them when I can stomach them again. For the moment though, those songs are moldy head cheese and boars’ feet on a bed of uncooked scrapple sizzlin' in the summer heat. They are swelling piles of putrefied meat, and I’ve lost my appetite for them. I know you get that. '

makes you sound unwarrantedly vengeful and malicious. there's no poetry here. it's an ugly spirit that I see, not the spirit of a writer. you should be so ashamed. you've revealed so much more about yourself than you probably realized (while ironically, comically trying to come off as the "bigger person")

okay, i just read the article. is english her second language? goddamn, that is some shitty writing. ...

The whole thing reads like a reflective essay to herself. Some kind of catharsis.

Mr. Reynolds is an excellent chap. An excellent chap indeed.

Yeah - I remember, though I've never met him. Much speculation though as to his real identity and him being an insider, etc.

That's up to him to say. My interactions with him have shown him to be a man of integrity and honesty, always.

Katherine Shook and the liberal Left are steeped in moral relativism and rely on Platonic elitism to such a degree that they fail to recognize their own blatant hypocrisy. Their bankrupt political ideology demands division. Their theme is always “us vs. them.” Unity of purpose, culture, nationhood, and citizenship undermine the socialist dogma that permeates their respective interpretations of liberal political ideology.

Their first cause is always tolerance — tolerance of any who agree with them. Because they are elitists after Plato’s model, they believe they know better than anyone else. Plato’s ideal separated the elite, the guardians of society, from the dross below them. That is infused in the hearts and minds of the liberal Left.

Any who disagree are so undermining to the Left’s agenda as to be intolerable. Or in Morrissey's case, a traitor to their beliefs.

People on the Left are tolerant of only those in agreement with their positions. Their opponents deserve to be persecuted and ostracized. Thus, the justification for enforcing their beliefs through whatever means is born, because failure to conform to the liberal Left’s ideology is subversive and must be defeated at all costs.

This produces calls for media attacks on independent voices such as Morrissey's. To the Left, this justifies the constant barrage of media attacks in order to publicly shame and ostracize him.

Similarly, the political elite of the Left excuse themselves for their hypocritical, do-as-I-say, not-as-I-do actions as acceptable because they are the Platonic guardians. They truly believe that they are better and thus deserving of the special dispensation that Plato afforded his elites.

The liberal Left, as evidenced by the modern day voices such as the Guardian and Shook, is a bankrupt political philosophy that is inherently hypocritical. It claims to be based on tolerance but is only tolerant of those who agree with them. It asserts equality, except when the elites amass huge fortunes. And, in the end, it attempts to, by necessity, compel compliance with its re distributive and intolerant policies.

Long Live Morrissey!
