Morrissey A-Z: "Lifeguard Sleeping, Girl Drowning"

While I consider Vauxhall a masterpiece this one and "Used to Be a Sweetboy" are the 2 that never did it for me. Am I the only one who thinks this could have worked on "Kill Uncle"?

Good title vis-à-vis the song

It bears some similarity to "Harsh Truth", the most atmospheric piece on KU.

I have never liked it. It's the only one I skip when I listen to Vauxhall. Good contender for the most boring song award, but number one will always be This is not your country.

I felt like it was weird, the first time I heard it. The clarinet or whatever wind instrument that is running throughout it, makes it sound so.. unlike the other songs to me. Almost like it's from a long time ago, decades or something. But I found myself playing it more and more. It's so strange and dark and I love the way he sings it. I agree with people who've said they don't really sing along to it, but it's still a good song. She was nobody's nothing.
