Morrissey A-Z: "Now My Heart Is Full"

Just a masterpiece. For some reason I don't understand, the way Morrissey sings these lines twists me up:

"Every jammy Stressford poet
Loafing oafs in all-night chemists
Loafing oafs in all-night chemists."

It almost sounds desperate. Like he's looking back on his life before fame & he's glad to have made it, but he misses that old life as well. So much longing. "Jammy Stressford poet", I love that, the sense of being really lucky in some ways but still having the same problems and being 100% Old Trafford at the end of the day. I don't think this is a song about a relationship. I think it is about having a long, long fight with depression and giving yourself reasons to hold on.

Full translated interview that you will see the "I don't think so. This song was the definitive expression of my change to adulthood, of my maturity.... " quote used around this track.

TO END LIKE ORSON WELLES
Les Inrockuptibles, 1995

(Worth a read).
FWD.

Thanks, this was my weekend read and a good one. I still have some of the originals of his interviews with Les Inrockuptibles, not this one though.
