Morrissey's 8 Most Offensive Comments - Paste
By Madison Bloom.

Excerpt:

"To love Morrissey is to occasionally hate him. No pop star in history has stirred such conflicted emotions in his millions of fans based on his extra-musical relentless diatribe. By the looks of the upcoming Moz biopic England Is Mine(which is out now in the U.K. and hits U.S. theaters on Aug. 25), it seems easy to remember the former Smiths singer as the precocious Northern boy with big dreams and an even bigger vocabulary.

But while writer-director Mark Gill is keen on portraying the artist as boyish and meek Steven Patrick, the rest of us are stuck with the man known as Morrissey—the man of a million insults, a thousand enemies, and the biggest mouth in showbiz. To celebrate our love-hate relationship with The Pope Of Mope, here are eight of Moz’s most ridiculous big mouth moments."

I switched off after Pope of Mope.
Bored before I even began,
FWD.

To save the hassle and minus the editorial:

1. “I can smell burning flesh…and I hope to God it’s human.”
Said: On stage at Coachella in 2009

2. “In the U.K. we live under a Nazi regime.”
Said: On stage at Edgefield Amphitheater in Troutdale, Ore. in 2015

3. “It’s the refuge for the mentally deficient. It’s made by dull people for dull people.”
Said: About dance music to Details in 1992

4. “Robert Smith is a whingebag.”
Said: To NME in 1984

5. That James Baldwin T-Shirt
Seen: On Morrissey's website, but later removed

6. Suggesting Jamie Oliver eat his own kids
Seen: On Morrissey’s fan site True To You

7.
“As for Brexit, the result was magnificent.”
Said: To Australia’s Faster Louder in 2016

8. “The Chinese are a subspecies.”
Said: to The Guardian in 2010

Mmm, which horrible word choice would than be? Not sure on what your definition of a winner is but in my mind I am ok, married, 3 lovely kids, couple of houses and happily retired.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::laughing:

Oh, I know. I can't stand losers who claim to be "offended" when they are the violent offenders (supporters of the evil industry) and thus, total hypocrites.

Still waiting to read something he said that was offensive. I only see his personal opinions. Nazi regime comment is of course about the royals who he believes run the country.

Thanks for making the planet more overpopulated and for hoarding real estate away from the homeless. You are okay, Surface.

English is nonsensical but in a funny way most of the time. If you go by what Morrissey has actually said there is no doubt he is far right. The reason being that he is a conservative at heart with very conservative values which has to do with him adoring a time that is long gone.

He admits himself that he lives in the past and has nothing to do with the times we now live in. He set up a bubble for him to exist in and that is his right.

If he praised Hitler no one would be surprised.

Actually if you go by what Morrissey has actually said there is no doubt he is neither left or right. Because, in truth... we don't know. As far as living in the past, etc, or your comment that 'He set up a bubble for him to exist in' just points to the fact that most of the time he would prefer to be by himself. Artists usually feel that way.

I don't know, I haven't stood outside of every venue counting the people who attended, but I would draw the conclusion that many many would disagree with you.

And if people have a problem with M's comments then they really really need to see a doctor. Because it's

Sometimes you talk absolute bollocks Ketamine, his last album bombed, he struggles to sell out UK venues outside of London and Manchester. I still go and see him on all his tours because he has a great back catalogue and a great voice and I hope that he will one day release another great album but I wish he would keep his gob shut and focus on the quality of his songwriting. As I said in another post, New Order still pull massive crowds world wide and sell loads of albums, yet you never hear any bullshit being spouted by them.

The Nazi comment isn't particularly offensive but it would be interesting to see why he thinks that as I haven't seen any evidence in all the time I have lived here?

Not only it's not offensive: it's true. Did you read Hons and Rebels by Jessica Mitford? If you did not, please enlighten yourself with some historical facts. Maybe Morrissey noticed the nature of the regime during his
infamous judgment.

Surface, you're like a big hairy oaf. You're probably a teddy bear at heart. But then you keep crapping on about New Order, and then I'm right back to imagining you with a shiny forehead all over again. It's all very distracting.

I don't know why you're bringing up record sales, etc I don't measure the success of an artist based on that, sorry, never had. All I'm saying and said is.. that a lot of people still see him live, and I'm sure they would disagree with you and your 'gob' comment. Anyways, it sounds like you have a 'gob', M has a beautiful ... mouth, from which only the truth pours out. :thumb:

MOOOOOUUUTHHHH ...:p

nah, sorry to disappoint but I have a full head of hair, I crap on about New Order because I saw Joy Division supporting Buzzcocks a few years ago and have followed them ever since and bizarrely I'm now a near neighbour to the singer from New Order, which is rather odd.

No need. I live here and have never seen anything that remotely resembles anything to do with Nazis.

Not sure why you find that funny but I am sat with them right now i

not sure why you would find funny in my comment, am sat with them right now on holiday in the states

'because I saw Joy Division supporting Buzzcocks a few years ago'

how did you do that ? :lbf:

'House of Dolls is a 1955 novella by Ka-tzetnik 135633. The novella describes "Joy Divisions", which were groups of Jewish women in the concentration camps during World War II who were kept for the sexual pleasure of Nazi soldiers.

Rob Gretton, the band's manager for over twenty years, is credited for having found the name "New Order" in an article in The Guardian entitled "The People's New Order of Kampuchea".

'Unfortunately former Cambodia was not the only place where a new order came up: Hitler's National Socialists also pursued it. Their ‘Neuordnung’ (German for new order) referred to a new form of government and organisation of Europe. Obviously fascism and national socialism were to be the foundations of this new order, considered to be a kind of earthly paradise.

After the members of New Order had found out that their band name had a rather charged meaning, they stated profusely that they distanced themselves from Hitler's ideas. Singer Bernard Sumner: 'We really, really thought it didn't have any connotations, and we thought that it was a neutral name, it didn't mean much.’

sure Bernard, sure... ;) :thumb:

To the background music in my head of Rawhide, with the Blues Brothers singing Rolling, Rolling, Rolling...

I was reading this and I was Lol-ing, Lol-ing, Lol-ing!

The Sex Pistols made the same comment about the UK being a nazi regime so Moz was not first. The nazi fear and idea is all about marxists pointing their finger at things that are not there. In some countries media write about skinheads still as if they still exist.

It is hilarious beyond funny.

Wow, have never seen all this before!! Am in the states at the moment but will ensure I show Hooky he next time we are walking our dogs in the park I'm sure he will be mortified.

No problem Anon

Pay small interest but never any amortization pushing the debt burden onto others when the crash comes. These people see themselves as good doers and hand all that over to their children and grand children.

Good luck!
