Moz on XFM Ian Camfield show 13th Feb

Jose

No way...
Was just listening to XFM Manchester (at work, so not very loud) and Ian Camfield was talking about Morrissey coming on his show "next week".
So I guess it will be a week from today.
He was talking about "I'm OK by myself" being one of the best things Moz has done in ages but he couldn't play the song right now because that would mean that Moz would definitely not show up. :p
So if someone heard the whole announcement correctly, please post it here. Because, as said before, I couldn't hear it properly because I'm at work right now.

Re: Morrissey on XFM 13th Feb

Thanks for the heads up.

Ian Camfield does not work XFM Manchester, he's normally doing his show in London.

Thank you very much Prisoner77 for the correction.

Re: Moz on XFM Manchester 10th Feb (?)

Moz was interviewed by Ian Camcorder before.
Seemed like a pretty genuine and knowledgeable Moz fan unlike some of their other bloody awful presenters!
I think his show goes out on all the XfM's though...

I've got XFM Manchester on and it says On air now: Ian Camfield.
Maybe he's just replacing someone else right now.

hmmmm

I bet the BBC will be thrilled to have their exclusive Moz appearance trumped by a rival station 24 hours earlier...

Radio 2's Radcliffe and Maconi show will broadcast Morrissey's live, possiblely bit of interview between songs.

XFM Ian Camfield will interview him and play some songs from the album?

Radcliffe and Maconi won't be upset about Morrissey's appearance on XFM.

*edit*
XFM has sister stations in the UK.
Some shows are directly broadcasted from main station in London, Camfield show is one of them.
Incidentally Camfield show is on weekday 12:00-16:00.

I imagine the regional Xfm stations share the same programmes for much, if not most, of the time with their own specialist shows interspersed...

Don't get me wrong, the more Moz the better for us.
But the Beeb just went from having the first (?) Morrissey interview in the UK this year, after the single release but before the album release, trumped by a rival station one day earlier. Someone there will be very pissed off.

Re: Morrissey on XFM 10th Feb

I hope this is true with the Morrissey interview since at the moment I can listen to XFM London online but not XFM Manchester. Go figure.

It's not true. However, I can see xfm London getting the interview.

Re: Morrissey on XFM 10th Feb

XFM Manchester has only two regional programmes a day AFAIK...the breakfast show (which is currently being f***ing crucified by extremely unfunny Alan somebody or other who has the most monotone dirge for a voice ever........) and the legendary Clint Boon's drivetime show.
The rest is networked throughout the day. Which is a shame as I recall XFM Manchester's original brief was at least to have a good degree of Manc music on the station.
Now that The Revolution has also been killed by Steve Penk, there's shite all decent music on the wireless round here.
I'm not really interested in traffic jams on the M40 thanks :)
Bring back regional programming!!

Lol! Very true. Thank christ they're not giving tickets away... Actually I dont mean that. XFM gave tickets away to a wonderfully small intimate James gig at academy 3 (?) and I won some!! Yay, they rock. They dont cancel out multiple entrants and I entered hundreds of times to secure my tickets. They should let the BBC know how its done :)
