Norm MacDonald Laughter Accolades

The Wild Turkey

Norm said that his biggest goal when gettin' into Stand-Up Comedy was to get onto
the David Letterman program, cause Norm thought Dave was the funniest.
He went ahead and fulfilled that goal and then went on the program some 20 more times.
Then when it came time for Dave to end his program, he chose Norm as the last Comic to appear.
Turns out Dave ended up thinkin' that Norm was the funniest.
Norm was so full of admiration for Dave, that Norm started cryin' and told Dave that he loved him.
Norm said he didn't plan on cryin', but he just couldn't help but get lost in the moment.
Jerry Seinfeld would later say that he's never heard other Comics talk about a Stand-Up set as
much as he heard'em talk about Norm's final appearance on the Letterman program.

oh my, i love him.

stand up comedy isnt my bag but i could watch him and laugh for hours. such a sweet, authentic person too.

thanks, wildT!

I'll be honest with ya rifke, I liked Norm's stand-up stuff. but
my favorite stuff was probably when he used to do his show
on YouTube.
This was somethin' I'd laugh to alot.
Norm got Bob Saget to tell his Dean Martin story and then Norm
interrupts'em at the end with a perfect line.

i found your son? im ashamed to say i dont get it!!! will you explain it to me?

yeah, i think he was the best when he was just engaging in banter, because his personality is what is so funny moreso than his jokes. i didnt know he had a youtube show! ill have to look it up!!

And you were the one trying to lecture us on the "nuances" of comedy?

Bob S starts off by sayin' that Dean Martin had just lost his son
(his son died).
Then when Bob S gets ready to tell what he said to Dean Martin
the first time he meet'em, Norm says "I found your son."
It's kinda mean of Norm, but it's funny.

Norm's Youtube show was funny, then it got picked up by Netflix
and they took'em all off Youtube.
I only seen clips of the Netflix stuff, since I ain't a subscriber.

Hey rifke, was it a big deal in Canada when Norm died?

One time Norm went on The View and messed with'em pretty bad.
Norm probably only went on so he could mess with'em.
Barb Walters says "You are a numba." :lbf:

oh god, that is amazing!!!! what a guy! he really riled up those hens. his 'im having a great time, i dont know what you're problem is' smile is always the best part of everything he does, not least of all here.

oh well, i got that... just thought maybe there was more to it :o

i dont really know if it was a big deal, wildT! i dont really have a gauge for that as i dont watch tv, and ive never heard anyone confess to being a fan of his. it SHOULD have been a big deal though!!

Norm got in a ton of trouble for his stream of OJ jokes, but I gotta tell you, the joke which starts at 1.55 is one of the funniest jokes I've ever heard. Norm really knew how to deliver a punchline.

Sorry rifke, but I'm feelin' kinda sad today about Norm's passin'.
Guess reality is settin' in.
Will take a break from postin' a video.
Here's a picture of Alain Delon with a Kitten instead.

sorry to hear you're feeling down, wild T! it's nice that there are people out there who's passing reminds us of the preciousness and fragility of life though, no? it's beautiful, really. we dont tend to think of comedians as being poetic but i think there's something really touching about funny men, some of them anyway, like norm. and at least we live in an age where you can go watch his videos any time you need a norm fix. <3

thanks for that beauteous alain delon + kitty pic!!!!!! i know IM going to be devastated when HE dies!!!! (which is why im glad ive got my alain delon shirt situation sorted so that ill have something to wear on that day and for weeks afterwards!!!!! (not that i bought it for any such morbid reason, i try not to think about alain delon and death together :( )).
