Ragefactor

Isn't the actual idea of the charts consumerism in it's self. So if Rage were number one the fact they were number one would defeat their purpose and contradict the idea’s within the song?

people are taking this too seriously

most people think it would be funny if they got to number 1, i for one would find it pretty amusing

people won't start breaking into music shops, and try and assasinate Cowell if it's not #1, don't worry..

Well, the Cowell backlash starts here... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8423340.stm

It's a shame that Cowell will make money out of this Sony release because he owns a chunk of Sony :(

But a good thing to see that a 6 month advert on ITV can be beaten by an internet campaign

Dave

ps - no, I didn't buy either.

The thing is - Rage didn't really BEAT X Factor because it was not a natural rise to the top. All it means is that next year you'll have to choose another song to desperately buy to put to the top.
Real music hasn't won the day because pop wasn't beaten on it's own terms - if this was a brand new Rage, or anyone, track that shot to the top because of how brilliant it was then THAT would be amazing. But to get there on the back of a Facebook campaign just proves that some people don't like Simon Cowell - which we all already knew.
