I'm looking for some new music recommendations from those with similar music tastes. Moz ranks #1 on my list, followed by The Beautiful South, Depeche Mode, Llloyd Cole, etc.

Quality lyrics keep my attention over anything else. Please share any of your favorites.

Thanks,
mozziestar

Try any/all of these:

Siouxsie & The Banshees / The Creatures / Siouxsie
PJ Harvey
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Soft Cell / Marc & The Mambas / Marc Almond
The Knife
Peaches
Sonic Youth
Antony & The Johnsons
Iggy Pop / The Stooges
Radiohead
David Bowie

Divine Comedy have good lyrics, Suede particularly good first 3 albums,Pulp very good lyrics (if a bit perverted sometimes ), The Kinks (Village Geen, Arthur), Elvis Costello (occasionally too clever by half),Gene ,the late Kirsty MacColl,R.E.M.,

it's a start anyway!

I am a huge R.E.M. fan so that would be my top recommendation. I think Michael Stipe can write some amazingly beautiful lyrics at times. Despite Around The Sun not getting much credit, as it was a relative slowly paced album, I believe that some of his best lyrics were upon it.

I guess U2 would be another choice. Although I sometimes feel that Bono can write a good pop song but he sometimes lack depth and meaning.
