The acronym D.O.A. has a whole slew of meanin's.
For Texas prog rockers Bloodrock, it means Dead On Arrival.
To ole Johnny Paycheck it means Drunk On Arrival.
For Van Halen it means Dead Or Alive.
Jay Z flipped it up to mean Death Of Auto-Tune.
Canadian punkers D.O.A. even got a song called D.O.A.
A good name for a Bird band would be Ducks On Acid.
I'm goin' with Van Halen, cause the truth is, Jay Z
never killed off Auto-Tune.
RIP Randy Rampage.

Folks go to New York for a whole slew of reasons.
Some want to be part of the excitement, some seek opportunity, some wanna buy
bootleg Gucci.
Why do folks leave New York though?
R.E.M.'s Mike Stipe seems to be leavin' cause of love gone sour.
He seen the light fadin' out.
Sylvain Sylvain, born and raised in New York, don't give a real definin' reason.
As he flys away though, he rattles off the memories and ya can tell how much
he really loves the place.
This is one of my favorite of the latter day R.E.M. songs, but I'm pickin' Syl on
this one.

Leaving New York

After the first killin' frost of autumn, there comes a patch of warm
weather which has become known as Indian Summer.
Named after the Human Bein's of North America who were erroneously
labeled "indians", this warm patch was a time for the Human Bein's to
finish up the harvest and begin preparin' for the winter.
There have been many songs with the title Indian Summer, but to Wild T,
the Beat Happening made the best one.
Fun fact! Both Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra (with Lee Hazelwood),
have done covers of separate songs called Indian Summer.

wait.. you talkin' to yourself, ya crazy bird?!

Bein' asleep in a warm bed on a cold morn is a simple pleasure.
Fallin' asleep while ya watchin' the big game can be a real bummer.
For Moz, sometimes times can get so tryin' that he'd rather just fall
asleep and not wake up again.
For Maja Milner, she's tired of someone she's sweet on, bein' asleep
in regards to her affections.
Of course I'm choosin' the Moz song, but I do like Makthaverskan and
their first two records are great.

Asleep

Speakin' of sleepin...
There is a aspect of sleepin' that folks don't find so pleasant.
Those kinda dreams that's called nightmares.
Them nightmares can have ya goin' every which way and around.
The Cinderfella Dana Dane had nightmares about Anita the beast.
Gordon Gano had nightmares about gettin' back together with someone.
I'm pickin' the Femmes, but Dana's had a more detailed description.
